My CWP is one year old next week and I have been carrying every day, everywhere it is legal, for the past year.
The difference it has made in me became clear to me today. Due to an odd circumstance too boring to explain, all 3 of my regular CCW pieces (S&W 442, KT P-32, KT P-3AT) are unavailable. As I was walking around doing my normal activities earlier, I noticed how I felt a little bit uncomfortable now being completely unarmed. Well, mostly unarmed -- I put my S&W folder in my pocket as some small consolation.
I don't think its fair to call it paranoia -- its more like an enhanced awareness I didn't have before. The responsibility of carrying a concealed weapon has--as many of you know--made me a lot more aware and wary of my surroundings. Now -- when I don't have the security of the concealed firearm--I am still aware of what is going on around me, but I feel somewhat less prepared to deal with it.
Anyone else feel this way from time to time when it never really bothered you before?
Maybe I should stop on the way home and find a nice IWB holster for my CZ-75 sitting in my gunsafe...
