I know Lake City is prized for its consistency, but what about the other US ordinance plants?

I have a bunch of other US headstamps to reload also and was wondering why they are never mentioned in competition circles.

Well, since he hasn't specified a caliber, there could be many. Yes currently, I do believe you are correct, LC is the only current plant, and pretty much only in three calibers. But if he's shooting a Garand, for instance, there are many more headstamps one encounters. (FA, TW, SL, EC, etc.)

The OP may be confused by the fact many commercial ammo companies are producing ammo to mil-spec, (crimps, etc.) Also possibly confusing the issue is some foreign military surplus/contract overrun ammo is sold here: TZZ (Israeli) and Radway Green (UK) being two examples.

I apologize for not sending complete information.

I was given 35 undocumented 30-06 handloads. I pulled the bullets, dumped the powder and checked the cases for separation, which they passed. The head stamps are as follows:
LC 75
TW 42 Twin Cities
DEN 42 Denver
SL 57 Saint Louis - curious as they closed in 45

Probably because they were wartime producers and have been out of action for 60-70 years.
Anybody still shooting .30-06 in competition - mostly Garand and Military Bolt Action matches, I figure - is likely using fresher brass. Or maybe old military match, not ball.

True, but I still come across old headstamps, so someone still has a quantity that gets used, maybe they are reloads; if so they are well taken care off and no signs of heavy loads, just for rec shooting maybe.
Barring any negative comments, I'll treat them as LC brass.
