So I am in the midst of building my 308 AR and just realized that I have yet to select a comp. I am looking for something that counters muzzle rise over all else. I am looking hard at the JP Compensator:

I have shot my friend's AR15 equipped with this comp and know it works well. But are they other, better options out there? Again I am not worried about flash or noise suppression, just with controlling the muzzle. So what are your thoughts?

Edit:
Not looking for a tank comp and I am not recoil sensitive at all.

I've shot the JP comp on mine, it does a great job. I have on hand to try next week, both the APA Fat Bastard and Little Bastard. I've tried these on my 308 bolt rifle and still need to do some more shooting to decide which one I'll keep. The Little Bastard on my 6.5 Creedmoor is the one to have, it's perfect on that rifle. They are not cheap, they are caliber-specific but they work real good. I also like the ease with which they can be removed for muzzle cleaning if desired, no timing washers or jam nuts to deal with.

Just say no to compensators. Unless you use them as a sacrificial blast baffle for your suppressors. No one wants to shoot next to "that guy." Don't be "that guy."

:p

Lol, you'd hate my range, everyone is "that guy". Invest in proper hearing protection and enjoy.
