Action: Savage / Stevens short action

Barrel: Custom Marty ter Weeme / Teppo Jutsu 10" or 12" SBR, (which length?), .338 Spectre, 1 in 6" twist (that's correct, one in SIX, needed for 350 gr SMKs):

Barrel Accessories: 9mm Suppressor (detachable; used without suppressor for .35 Herret type full power loads; use with suppressor for .357 mag type subsonic loads).

Stock: Choate "Folding Sniper Stock":

Optics: Undecided, but want a high quality day/night scope (probably Gen 2), in something like a 1-4x32, or 1.5-6x40, or fixed 2x or 3x. What do you suggest?

The main purpose is to make people go "holy bejeebus" at the range. :)

Well, cholate stocks have always felt wierd to me, but other than that, sounds nice.

For a optic, a Horus Talon might be waht you need, the retical will help imeasurably on longer shots. Most low power scopes have a basic retical. If not, leupold makes some really nice ones.

One thing, where do you get 350gr .338 bullets? The site you linked had loaded ammo, but sierras site says nothing about them. Only 250gr and 300gr ones, that is as heavy as i have heard of......

ETA: Links to some scopes:

That is a most excellent question on the 350 SMKs as shown there... I will check on that from Ron or Marty. I don't know.

P.S. I figure the absolute farthest I would ever shoot this is 200 yards, and most of the time 100 yards or less.

I think it was a typo, the caption below says "300gr sierra" and it is the same pic of the "350gr sierra".....

And for barrel length, 12", it is just about ideal for the .338 spectre IIRC, and a 10.5" is ideal for the .300 whisper.

Just be cautious about which action you end up with, for some stupid reason Savage,Stevens recently changed to a centerfeed style internal magazine that's made into the stock. As of yet there aren't many aftermarket options for replacing these. So shop around and make sure you're buyin the recently discontinued staggered feed action.
