225 gr. lead TC bullets. I have a lee manual and, it doesn't list any load data for 225 gr. lead TC bullets for .45 ACP. I didn't even think to look when I odered these now, I have 1000 bullets sitting on my bench and have no load data for. What does your manual lave listed for these bullets to include min-max charge, velocities and OAL.

Thanks, Flip.

The only listing I have for a 225 grain bullet is for a JHP...we would need to know what powder you would want to load with as there are many different powders to choose from...:)

My manual has loads listed for 230 gr. lead bullets. Could I use those loads? As far as powders go, I'm not sure yet. I have a but load of titegroup here at the house but want to try out new powders.

I just looked.

It also has loads for 220 gr. lead bullets also. Which one would you suggest using. 220 gr. or 230 gr. loads.

Just a thought... wouldn't it go the other way around? The charges for the lighter bullets are usually heavier, so couldn't one start either kind of on the low end of the heavier set of charges (listed for lighter bullet than actually used) or toward the middle of the lighter set of charges? Basically, more or less split the difference between the charges for the two bullets, as the weights of the bullets are close, and the charge ranges are relatively close as well.

From the Lyman 45th Edition (I don't trust myself to type.)

From the Speer #9 Manual

Personally, I'd just use load data for a similar 230gr bullet and be done with it.

I use the same charges for the 225 TC lead bullets that I use for the 230 LRN. No problems with a heck of a lot of rounds.

Outstanding information!

I really appreciate all of the help. I'm looking forward to rolling my own .45 acp. I miss shooting my 1911 and, I said to myself that the next time it gets shot is with reloads.

Thanks, Flip.:)
