What else do I need besides a RCBS Turret reloading kit?

well besides brass/powder/bullets obviously.


I'm going to start get into reloading and currently have $200 in gift certificates (and will likely get another $100-200 for christmas) to Sportsman's Warehouse. They seem to mostly carry RCBS equipment so i thought the deluxe turret press kit would be a good buy for a beginner (the progressives would likely be overwhelming).

Just wondering what else I'm going to need that isn't included in the kit....trying to figure out how much this all is going to cost and hopefully i can do it all on gift certificates.

I've got handguns in 9mm, .38/.357, .45acp and an AR15 in 5.56/.223 that i'll be reloading for (well maybe not 9mm since the savings wouldn't be much).

you're gonna need dies, calipers, and a case trimmer(for the rifle cases) to start.....also a tumbler and another manual or two would be a wise investment.

RCBS makes great products and that kit is a good one.

That said, I would take a bit more time to researsch as the calibers you mentioned are all calibers that I load progressive. Sportsmans warehouse has the Dillon 550B for $350.00. I would seriously look into this.
By all means, a good single stage is good to start on but you can also do one round at a time until you learn the process since the 550B is actually a Turret press with 4 stations that you manually index a shell plate to change them. You can do 1 round at a time or 4 at a time. You could still buy a inexpensive Lee single stage to match up with it and don't let the Dillon bashers start to scare you about caliber change prices. You only need one powder throw and can buy parts of a caliber change to complete a caliber change.

I would also recommend looking into the Lee classic turret but as far as I know, Sportsmans warehouse doesn't sling Lee products. You could still buy a inexpensive Lee single stage

thanks for the suggestion....i'll look into the Dillon...i've got a month or so before i buy so that should give me time to get some good research in before i buy
