What is the last gun that you bought?

Do you guys use the 7"1/2 for SASS.
My vaqueros weight are just fine. But larger I do hesitate to share with my wife. I would love a pair in 38/357.

Sorry, do not know, I do not shoot at organized shoots like that. Never cared for those little beepers in my ear.

But I do shoot a 7 1/2" SAA, It is my magic gun. Its more accurate than I am... Have lent this to friends to shoot and they hit 40 yard bulls eyes 1st shot. It aims itself... And like that is not enough it is one of the Uberti 7th cavalry commemorative pistols for company E the Grey Horse company no less. Now you are thinking its impossible for a pistol to give any more ... Well it does because It has a 45 acp cylinder with it.

I went to Marden's, a salvage company/store, after a call from a friend that they had bought out a gunshop a couple of years ago. There, I found a Rem 700 ADL, new, in box, for $230, but already had two other .223s and the only reason to buy it was that a friend was learning to shoot with my guns and liked to shoot my other .223s, but had little concern for barrel temperature, so he could shoot the new one without so much concern.

That worked for a while, until he decided that he preferred to shoot handguns and stopped going to the range with me. What to do...what to do with that rifle? The answer was to do what I like to do best...glass bed the sucker, pillar-bedding the action, free-floating the barrel, and cleaning-up and adjusting the trigger.

Well, I did my duty to the ADL and am pleased to report that it's shooting sub-1/2 MOA groups at 100 yards. I'd still prefer to get another stock for it, one with a flatter forend, but don't want to pay twice the cost of the rifle to do so. It will probably remain as-is for the foreseeable future.

Okay, I splurged.

I went in, was looking at a plain-jane Maverick 88, but that had some fitting issues, some wear, and some rust.
I said "Nah, not today," and he said "What about this one, I'll bring it down to only $30 more."
Actual 500, easy to replace anything if I do use it for anything but bedside duty, and none of the bluing is rubbing off the wear spots yet.

Today I ordered my Christmas present, a Ruger MK IV 10” stainless pistol. Should be shipped before the end of the year. Now gotta start thinking about an optic, considering a red dot, but suggestions for a red dot or a scope would be welcomed.

Found a great deal on Gunbroker for a Glock 42. Looks like maybe 1 box of ammo went through it. Spent part of today working up loads for it.

PSA MOE complete lower and PSA 10.5" 300 Blackout upper with SB15 brace. Nothing special but it was on my list for deer hunting. I've been going light and short for in the woods hunting and it has been working great. I rationalize this as a rifle for either of my 2 daughters who might hunt in the future. So far they like their Nerf guns. 300Blackout.jpg

Today picked up at Cabela's a Uberti "Stallion" revolver; this is a Colt S. A. A. 1873 design but in .22LR. The revolver is maybe ... 3/5ths the size (a rough guess) the size of a centerfire Peacemaker's frame, with 5.5" barrel, color case hardened frame. Has quarter-cock "safety" position and half-cock for free spinning the cylinder for loading. Six shot. Uberti apparently makes a 10 shot variant but Cabela's doesn't have this.

The firing pin is set in the frame and spring loaded, a minor variance from the original revolver's design.
I don't recall off hand if Colt ever made the Peacemaker in .22, or if they did, was it full size frame or ......?

Trigger guard and back strap on mine are brass, and gun frame is very nice color case hardened. Uberti seems to be doing a bit better on this in recent years.

All in all, a nice, nifty size revolver with nice tight lock-up. :)

Oftentimes I like the gun shows as much for the accessories, knives and ammo cans as anything else...

1100 Trap, two step rib barrels, hard case, way better than average wood. A friend talked me out of it twenty years ago. He recently had aa strok and was lamenting how his shooting days were done. I asked what he'd take and he said ($) what I paid you. I gave him a little extra. I have seven grandkids, several of which have shown an interest in trap, the 13 year old breaking 40+/50 last sumer with my field grade 1100. This one could become hers.
Told them all that If they want to shoot, I will keep them in guns and shells.
