what is the lightest weight high quality LPVO?

what is the lightest weight high quality low power variable optic?

i'm looking for something to put on a 5 lb 16" ar15 that is fairly accurate. looking for something relatively rugged that can be packed or carried slung a long way, but still hit practical (2MOA) targets to say, 600 yards.

1-4x would be ok if it's much lighter weight than 1-6x but 1-8x would be preferred

NF 1-8 ATACR is 21 oz fov 96-13
NF 1-8 NX8 is 17 oz fov 106-13
swaro 1-8 is 18 oz fov 128-16
vortex 1-6 is 21.5 fov 115-20

1911, I haven’t decided. F1 preferred for sure but it didn’t kill me with the vortex and swaro I’ve owned.

Where were you looking? Leupold has the weights for all of their scopes listed in the specifications for each one. It's the very first thing on the specs chart, in fact.

I have a Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5x24mm scope (30mm tube) that weighs 14.7oz and that's with the Butler Creek caps on. It has an illuminated SP reticle and is a SFP model. It's been in my safe for quite a few years and is in pristine condition if @taliv wants to buy it. I don't know if it qualifies as being rugged. It has the 1/2 moa adjustments and 62gr 5.56mm BDC dial.

Because of the setup you’re suggesting I think I’d lean heavy on finding a repeatable QD mount and pouch to stow it in if that also meets with your needs. The why is of course to broaden potential options on the scope where something like a Leupold could withstand the journey. Otherwise it would be off the list, same with the Vortex, and that leaves some very expensive glass.

Steiner might be another brand to consider. Riton makes a 1-8x at 25 oz which is on the heavier side but also offers illumination (no experience with them).

Little different pick, its what I would pick....Swaro 3x10-42 12.7oz. Natchez Demo $683. brand new $729. crystal clear optics great lenses and super clarity. What could be finer?

Been going through this. Today I pulled the trigger on the Vortex Razor 1-6 Gen 2-E. They are the same MAP price at Geissele, but they include the Geissele scope mount/rings at that cost. $1399 no tax/free shipping.

Leupold 1.5-4x20mm. Weight listed is 272 grams or 9.6oz. Probably the lightest you can go on a good optic at the expense of magnification. I have the same scope on a Marlin 336.

Unfortunately I think Leupold discontinued the scope you're looking for.

I've got a VX6 1-6X with their now discontinued multi-gun reticle (illuminated BDC dot) and CDS dial that weighs in at 16.2oz. You can still get their VX6HD 1-6X, but all they offer standard is the FireDot reticle for about $1400 retail. I can get it for $1000.99 with my DAC discount.

IF I wanted another one, I'd probably go their custom shop route and have it built with the reticle I wanted. Their options are about endless. I plan on going this route with a new 2.5-8x36 for a REM M7 I'm about to order. I can have a CDS dial installed along with their Boone & Crockett reticle.
