What is your most unusual/oddball handgun?

1869 Werder issued to a member of the Königlich Bayerisches 2. Chevaulegers-Regiment „Taxis“ which fought at the Battle of Sedan, September 1-2, 1870. A single shot pistol that was so "fast" to load that it was known as the "lightning" by some folks.

I have an AMT Backup.380 that is my most unusual / oddball.

Extremely common cartridge, nothing odd here. But...

It’s extremely miserable to carry or shoot, which was its purpose: heavy weight-for-size, it’s practically sightless, lots of sharp edges (especially the finger-hooked magazine and the slide where it meets the web of your hand), it is unreliable with JHP ammo and has a trigger pull best measured in metric tonnes.

I had a couple of those back in the day when they were like the smallest .380 you could find. They were difficult to shoot with an extremely heavy trigger pull, an on again/off again safety, and were without any really usable sights.

I sold my last one to fund my next .380 purchase: a Colt Mustang and I'm so glad I did!

^^^To this day, I have a few AMT DAO Backups in .380 and 9 mm, all bought new back in the 80s and 90s. They were the hot ticket for their day: small, dehorned DAO stainless steel pistols for backup, and the 9 mm and .45 were among the smallest pistols in a significant caliber albeit they are heavy for their size. I still carry the 9 mm DAO on occasion. All of mine have been reliable with proper lubrication.

I am sorry, Rembrandt; I just thought the Boberg was my most unusual/oddball handgun, but if it does not qualify, I withdraw it from further discussion. Again, my apologies for getting off-topic.

gee I got a response deleted because I called someone who was wrong about your post not being here properly a rather correct name ... the thread asked what is YOUR most unusual hand gun and your answer is well within those parameters no mater what that person tried to infer ... I have to keep it nice but you owe him or anyone else NO apologies !!! You were and are on topic !!!!

Thank you, TallPaul.

I knew my response was appropriate to the thread, and my offer to withdraw it from further discussion was intended tongue-in-cheek! In fact, the Boberg was, and still is, MY most unusual and oddball gun.

Sorry you got busted.

Grendel p30 maybe.
Clerke 1st.

Rare, but upon use one will see why.

Or bren 10
329pd
Maybe even Five-seven 1st gen
Or early rtf2 glock 17 with curved serrations

Not sure about the production numbers of those I've read all are pretty rare.

My rarest would likely be THE sig mosquito that functions. Ive bought and bought and can't find another. Some say they were never produced.

As far as oddball I'd have to say the rhino revolver. I dont own one though

My most unusual gun is a Charter Arms Pathfinder semi-auto. Its gold in color and ugly as sin. But the stupid thing shoots every time with the short 7 round mags. The 10 rounder is a sometimes thing. And the barrel has been threaded for an oil filter suppressor.

This is sort of an oddball. Hard to aim without a laser, unless bench rested. I did carry it once, around my neck and under a trenchcoat, into a seedy part of town, only to pick up a neighbor at a dive bar. Could actually be a decent home defense gun, were it not so ungodly loud. Ordered when they first came out. KelTec PLR-16

I don't have many oddball guns anymore. I would say all of the Charter Arms Pitbulls are kinda weirdos. Shooting .40 or .45 without moon clips by using a little spring-loaded catch is both strange and pretty ingenious for getting around the need for those who like shooting rimless cartridges out of a revolver without worrying about

I can't think of anything I have that is TRULY oddball -- as in so beyond the norm, it doesn't conform at all to the standards of handguns of that type.

I suppose the closest thing I have is my Detonics Mk VI Combat Professional... Just because of the forward-mounted rear sight and the swept down slide (supposedly to facilitate thumb-cocking)...

My most oddball pistol is a Remington 221 Fireball, see it even has "Ball" in the name.
What do I win?
If my rememberer is working properly, the .221 Fireball was the ammo designed for the XP-100 pistol, also made by Remington.
They always looked backwards to me as it had a bolt like a right-hand bolt action rifle. Seemed to me that a bolt with a left hand operation would work better in a pistol keeping the gun firmly in the firing hand. a rh operated bolt on a rifle made more sense as the left hand on the forestock pushing the rifle into the shoulder kept everything in a firing position. Never shot one, just my own ruminations.

I have a few that I think most would say are unusual. I found some stock pics of some of them because I don’t have the actual pics handy right now. First is the Croatian PHP pistols. Shorter barrel and long barrel versions.
