For carry:

9mm = Ranger T 147-gr. (RA9T) at 990 fps in 4" pipe. 15.2" & .69"
45 ACP = Ranger T 230-gr. +P (RA45TP) at 990 fps in 5" pipe. 15.7" & .79"

"Other"

(180 gr. Gold sabres loaded in UMC nickel brass with CCI 350 primers and IMR 800x for a velocity of 1342 from my 3.5" Witness Compact 10mm)

.45ACP 230gr Golden Saber in both the full size 1911 and the ossifer framed 4"bbl 1911. Would not hesitate to use the 230 gr. Gold Dot either, both work equally well in my guns, I found a cheap source for the GS that has since dried up so that's what I have the most of/use.

You don't give me enough choices! Ok in the nightstand .38, there's 125grn +P Remington Golden Sabre's. In the truck 9, there's 115grn Federal Hydrashocks. The SP101 .357 mag there's 158grn Black Talons. If I've got the Officer's ACP then there's 230grn Winchester/Midway HP's. If'n I'm packing one of my .44 mags in the woods, I've got 3 Sierra 300grn sp, and 3 Sierra 250grn fpj's for maximum penetration.

Can't really vote in the poll since you can only pick one. I use whatever shoots best from my pistol. I've ended up with four loads in four pistols. If I did pick just one it would be the Gold Dots. None of my pistols shot a GDHP load badly. That couldn't be said about some of the others. With the ammo choices today I don't think you can go wrong by staying with any of the major brands self defense HP loads. Just find the one that works best in your gun and shoot straight.

I used to use hydra shoks, I currently use Golden Sabers. I have also used Gold Dots when someone was an idiot and forgot to put new carry ammo in my range bag (I rotate new ammo in every payday). Most in 230 grain, and all of that through a 1911 of some sort.

I think I have hydrashocks in my Glock and Golden Sabers in my Kahr. The Glock fills the truck gun hole, and my Kahr hardly comes out of the safe.

I have also been known to carry ball.

"I rotate new ammo in every payday." I do the same and it's wise to have a habit of rotating your carry ammo every 6 months or so.

Hornady .45 caliber 200 grain TAP FPD #91128

Low muzzle flash, and incorporates the use of their very fine XTP bullet.
An excellent choice when fired from the compact 1911 platform.

However, I'm from the old school and still like Federal's 230 grain JHP
Hydra-Shoks and W-W 185 grain SilverTip JHP's for certain applications.

Speer Gold Dot .38 Special 135 grain +P and Speer Gold Dot 9mm 124 grain. I do plan to get +P rounds for my 9mm at some point.

It depends.

BHP: Remington 115 JHP +P
G26: Speer Gold Dot 115 JHP +P+
1911: Remington 230 JHP Golden Saber
340SC: Winchester 145 STHP

I'm using the DoubleTap brand loaded with 165grain Gold Dots in my USP40c.

On the occasions when I carry my 1911, it's loaded with 230grain Golden Sabers.
