What kind of guns do the bad guys carry?

Does it seem like bad guys don't use Sig Sauers?
We do get a few Sigs, but not often.
The trend now is to get gun that you can get high capacity extended mags for.
I had never heard of a quartercircle 10 before. Like this one?

That's a lot of coin for a couple of 9mm AR pistols when cheaper versions are readily available. And to have gone to the effort to have (presumably) illegally converted one of them to full auto. Must have been some felon. With a bunch of spare cash lying around.

The rest of the story on that bust would be worth telling. Gunny, I know you can't, but maybe someday someone will.
The full auto 9mm was like this one but with a Strike Industries pistol brace.

There's a lot of info that I can't pass on but here's what made the News.

Oh that's classic!

Not only does it appear that felons handled firearms in public, but perhaps they filmed themselves doing it.

Great bust...let's hope the charges stick!

Take a close look at this pic. You can see one loose round next to most on the guns. Those rounds were removed from the chambers of the guns.

Which was my point. The wanna be rappers weren't concerned with waving loaded guns around to shoot their video. It is surprising they didn't get another form of shooting going on.

What kind of bad guys?

The local petty criminals pretty much carry whatever they can steal or get someone to straw purchase for them from one of the local pawn shops.

The people involved in the drug trade seem to pretty much carry ARs and medium- to large-frame handguns. Judging by what the police seize Glocks seem to be favored.

Did you read the OP?

Gunny is documenting guns that he has confiscated from actual criminals

Evidence guns; but I suspect usually confiscated from criminals versus ones confiscated in domestic situations where a gun might not have been used. Interesting Gunny.. I know one person involved in a domestic situation where the police found a gun and he was charged with possession of an illegal firearm. He's an idiot, and used to brag about carrying a gun. Little did I know he was not allowed to carry a gun.

Most states you are not allowed to have a gun if convicted of domestic violence. In LA. You are not allowed to have a gun for 10 years if convicted.
Now in the list of guns, I don’t go into any details other then the basic crime. As in Domestic, these cover a range of charges such as Domestic Abuse Battery to Agg. Assault with a firearm on a spouse, family member or dating partner.

I bet that would be a huge surprise for the current Democrat presidential candidates.

I bet it wouldn't. If you haven't figured out that law abiding gun owners is the demographic they're targeting for disarmament you haven't been paying attention. I posted this in another thread but it applies here too

The biggest mistake that we could ever make and probably the one that's going to lose this fight for us is to assume the ignorance of our enemies.

Beeto may well not understand how Firearms or gun violence works, but he doesn't care.

He (really they) wants you disarmed because they have an agenda and they can't implement it as long as you have the means to resist.

If we could find a way to end all gun violence they still want you disarmed and as long as we ignore that or pretend it's not really what they want, we're fighting a losing battle.

-And if these candidates proposed to truly disarm and punish the criminals then they would lose the lawyer vote... .

The objective of this topic is to give insight into what type of semi-auto guns are being used in crimes and taken off the streets.
And from following this thread I got the impression that the bulk of the guns were just whatever they could get their hands on. I assume there's a small percentage that might have belonged to the bad guy in better days, but it seems like the majority weren't shopped for in legitimate outlets. The make/model aggregate is all over the map in price and quality, so my guess is the sourcing for most of the bad guys and guns was the street and a smaller percentage probably straw purchases.

If you do not mind answering if you can release such information, I have the following question.
Given the increasing prevalence of magazines holding more rounds being seized from criminals in your jurisdiction, are the criminals using these guns firing more rounds than they were maybe ten years ago?

Back in 2012 there were approximately 5 to 10 cartridge cases recovered at shooting, crime scenes.
That has gone up to 10 to 25. We have had crime scenes where more then 50 cartridge cases have been collected.

Extended magazines are very popular, and extended Glock magazines are the easiest to come by. This makes Glocks very popular.

Out of curiosity, do you know offhand the ratio of outdoor shootings vs. indoor?

That is a bit concerning I sometimes carry a J-Frame with a speedloader or two. Probably need to carry a ten round capacity minimum semi-auto given what you are reporting here plus a spare magazine. It is also an argument for the so-called hi capacity 20-30 round AR magazines for home defense.
