what kind of primer will I need for 350 legend should it be a regular or a magnum I will use h-110 power with 170 gr bullets thanks

I didn’t find a huge difference in 300Blk, but quite a big difference in 50AE and 450 Bushmaster.
I’m not sure where the line lays, but that large Bushmaster case really soaks up the primer pressure needed for good ignition.
:)

I use a CCI Rifle primer with my 350 Legend. I am using Lil Gun and not H110. If it were me and I was using H110 I'd be using a magnum primer.

The only bullets I could find were 147g .355 Hornady XTP. Still on the hunt for powder. Did find a bunch of primers from when I was reloading a few years ago. Does it make that much of a difference to use CCI small rifle vs Winchester WSR? Just took my first kill at 70yds with 180g winchester rounds a month ago. Only ammo I could find. Now I can't find any so its back to making my own. Exit would wasn't that large but that little 140lb boar was drt. Love it so much, just build another in pistol config.

The short of it: Nope.:)

The long of it: While there won’t be a large difference, there will be a difference. Any component change requires a short work back up for safety.
A bench rest shooter may see a difference in groups from one primer to another, but for hunting at 70yrds there should be no practical difference. Unless very cold temps or hard to light powder require a magnum primer for confident ignition.

Good to heard that it’s working well for you.

Heh, my 350 bolt gun has become a dedicated beaver and muskrat hunting gun. Have been using factory Win 145 grain FMJ rounds, but they are overkill. The headshot on the beaver a couple weeks ago was fine, but the 'skrat I killed today demonstrated the excessiveness of the round for this application (no head plus the critter summersaulted 6 feet in the air when it was hit). I plan to cast a bunch of plain based bullets with the accurate mold I bought this spring and will work up a moderate power load with either unique or trail boss this summer. A typical shot is 50 yards or less, so I really only need accuracy with a 180 grain bullet. Pretty much any velocity of 900 FPS or better will do.

for light work like that in a bolt gun I would bet ya could go lighter with the bullet almost to 9mm 38spl loadings ?

Yep. Will try 124 and 147 jacketed bullets as well. But coated cast moving slow will be less noisy and have more than enough thump.
