Hi Guys,

I have just got a Browning BLR in 243 now I know it is a Light Weight as the right side of the barrel is marked "BLR LT WT CALIBER .243 WIN ONLY" & on the left it has "Browning Arms Company Morgan, Utah" then under that is "Made in Japan/Miroku" it is blued with a timber pistol grip stock.

I am trying to workout what model this is as I am trying to get a scope mount for it which is not easy here in Australia without knowing the exact model so hoping you Guys can help as I seem to be going around in circles & still can't find out the model or when it was made.

Serial number is 03171MT341 if that help ?

Thanks heaps for your help.
All the best.
Jason

Juat a add on. "Made in Japan/Miroku" Is not a negative thing. They make high quality guns. Some of the current Winchester firearms are made there. I have a Browning M71 .348 made there in the mid 80s. Beautiful rifle.
Thanks Mate

QUOTED FOR TRUTH. Miroku makes superb Browning designs ---oh, and they make an equally excellent 1873 Winchester now too.

Thats a nice combo. I'm surprised the .358 never really took off. Only factory competition was the good old 35 Rem. Really no other factory 35 cal rounds until the 35.Whelen was commercialized. I'm surprised there was never a .33-08.
