What Pistol do you carry.

Nothing right now. Will get my tn permit soon though, and I will carry my 686 4" or my pt99afs. If I'm going deep concealment I will carry my wife's glock 42.

Why? Because the 686 is American iron with a beast of a round out of a 4" barrel. The pt99afs goes out for crowded areas with 2 extra mags to balance the load in the shoulder rig. And the 42 because I haven't found a pocket gun I actually like yet. I'm growing fond of my Walther pp 7.65 browning though. I just hate to carry such a beautiful gun in a pocket, I would rather show it off.

Flavor of the day for me, I'm a rancher so concealibilty is no big thing since I don't go to the city. Favorites include 1911s, Ruger SP 101 .357 mag, if I do go to town, I don't carry out of my pickup but I guarantee within arms reach in my pickup is something with lots of punch.

Kel-Tec PF-9 because, in order of importance:
Reliable - zero mf in many hundreds of shots fired
Powerful enough and rat-shot capable
Highly concealable, and very light and small/thin enough that I'm inclined to actually carry it
Belt clip iwb when desired
Inexpensive

For those days that I'm working it's a .380 from Kel-Tec. Other days when I'm bumming around on the farm or doing local errands it's an old nickel Walther PPK/s in .22 Lr

My usual EDC is a Gen4 G19 in a CBST, with a spare mag on the opposite side. My wardrobe almost always involves a jacket of some kind, so I could hide anything shy of a bazooka if I wanted to. Still, the G19 is a hard-to-beat combination of features: size, caliber, capacity, reliability, weight, etc.

A Kahr PM9 with 2 spare mags, duringthe day, and a Glock 19 or 26, at night. Also if I am just sitting in the Family room, I just leave a Glock 30 S, sitting next to me on my end table. The Glock 19 and 26, get a TLR4 laser/light attached to them at night. I gave up trying to find a holster that fits with the light on, "and practical enough to deploy" so I just place a tissue box, "cut out" over it.
I still have the 16 oz PM9 in my pocket, that doesn't leave till I go to sleep. Problem is in life, you just don't know when someone is going to break into your home.

I trained for quite a while with a Sig P229 in .40 S&W. But my love of 1911's and 10mm had me wanting that in a size similar to the Sig.

So, I had a 1911 Commander length custom made in 10mm. Since I specified its build, it's perfect for me as my EDC.

Dude!

Most days Glock 43 + 1 mag. I will occasionally carry a Glock 19, Sig 226, or Walther PPQ. I don't carry anything I don't train with often enough to be familiar and comfortable with the manual of arms.
All of that said, most days it still falls to the Glock 43. Small, easy to conceal, goes bang every time. Over 1k rounds through it and the only failures have been cheap reload related (literally an unseated bullet). Having just harped on the 43...the 19, 226, and PPQ have also never had a failure. I'm starting to believe that most modern reputable manufacturers provide a good product at a reasonable price. I generally shoot the cheapest reloads i can find for the range and even with them I run into very few issues.

I put my Glock 19 in the safe and switched to a Smith and Wesson Shield. Love that little gun. Coupled with a N82 Tactical holster I don't think it can be beat for daily carry. I now only carry the Glock 19 in movie theatre's, shopping malls, schools(LEO so I can carry anywhere), crowded places where I may need more rounds. The N82 Tactical holster has made a world of difference for me carrying 24/7. I don't think it can be beat for being comfortable.

Lately it's been a 3" 686+. Once in a while a Smith&Wesson M&P 9mm or a Ruger SR9c.

My primary carry gun is a saftiless M&P Shield 9mm, 9 rounds in gun, 7 round spare (I don't like the extended magazine due to the spacer for a reload and without the spacer it could potentially be over inserted). I carry AIWB most of the time, spare magazine in my left pocket.

My "run to the store" gun is a Glock 42 because it is light enough to clip IWB in gym shorts or sweat pants without a belt. It has proven to be just as reliable as any other Glock and much more shootable than most small pistols.

I just bought a XD-s in .45 ACP so that might fit in somewhere once I get comfortable with it. I sometimes carry a DAO SP101 or M&P40 Compact. Still, the Shield and G42 account for what I carry about 95% of the time.

I've pretty much given up on IWB carry....again. I try it every 6 months. I buy a "better holster", wear it, hate it, go back to OWB kydex or leather. So currently, I have found that in the winter months a Glock 19 is hard to beat.

I like my LCR for daily carry. It's fine around the house and running to the store, but this time of year, with the crowds, I prefer the extra rounds of the 19.

Lately I alternate between my Wilson Combat CQB Compact and my Sig Sauer P229 Legion. I'd like to get the P245 into the rotation in place of the 1911, however I'm still getting used to it and it needs night sights before I commit to using it for carry. In the summer when I need something a little lighter weight, I go with my Walther P99 Compact.

Here is the revolver I carry most frequently these days -- a S&W Model 431PD in 32 H&R Magnum.

It weighs 13.5 oz, hold 6 rounds (instead of 5 for 38s).

When I don't carry the 431PD, I'm carrying this Model 49. It's 21 oz empty, so heavier and shoots 38 Special.

Generally it is a Smith and Wesson 2 1/2" model 19, and 6 rounds in a speed strip. For a quick local area errand I drop a Smith and Wesson model 640-1 in my back pocket.

Happy Holidays all.

I have others, but most every day it is the LCP.
Like others here have said.....I am not looking for the perfect battle pistol. I just want a fighting chance to get my family home safely.
Rule 1: have a gun.

At the moment a Kahr PM9 in my front pants pocket. The Kahr has pretty much replaced the J frame 38 that was my "dressed up" gun for almost 20 years.

My summer untucked shirt gun has been a Kahr P9 for at least 15 years, and the winter version was either a Sig P220 or a S&W 1086. Recently I have been giving serious thought to a Beretta PX4 in 40 for that role.

I started with a Glock22, it turned out to be so heavy it became annoying to wear. Changed to the LC9, just drop it in my jeans pocket in the morning where it rides all day long. Oh, I put a Crimson Trace on it, so it is just point and shoot. Pretty accurate at 15 yards. The G22 has become my bedside comforter, and several others spread through out the house. I am never more than a couple steps from something that goes bang.

M&P Shield or 2.0 Compact, both in 9mm. I tend to carry the Shield more when it's warm or I'll have it on all day, and the Compact more when I'm wearing more clothing and/or going to have it on for a shorter stint. The Compact carries pretty well but I can almost forget the Shield is even there AIWB, and it's no slouch loaded with 8+8 of HST.

This thread has gone on so long my EDC(s) have completely changed!

These two are carried most- the Detonics is my primary when out-and-about, the S&W .38 Safety Hammerless is my most common pocket-gun when in my workshop.
There are two 'new' guns that see use occasionally-

My Detective Special in .32 Colt New Police (.32 S&W Long) with the factory hammer shroud and a Tyler T-Grip...

...and this custom Taurus Model 85 .38 Special, which sometimes stands in for the S&W top-break for pocket-drop duty in the workshop.
