I have a Citori Lightweight (english stock) that still wears the factory plastic curved buttplate. I have learned that the plastic wears me out on a long day (100+ rounds), and I think that I'd like something with a little less slip to it (without being as grippy as, say, a Limbsaver). The stock LOP is fine for me.

My instinct was to put a Pachmyer English pad on it, but before I send it off to have the stock cut and a pad put on I figured that I'd canvass the forum for options. I actually hate to cut the stock, but I don't want to increase the LOP and the curve in the wood doesn't make it likely that a pad can be fitted without cutting.

Any pad, even a solid English style will feel a little more comfortable. You did not say what type of loads you are shooting and at what - i.e., 4 rounds of trap real quick with 1-1/8 oz max handicap loads or 100 rounds over 6 hours of light loads in a dove field or???

I say this because the easiest MIGHT be something as simple as using different ammo.

Otherwise, I believe you are correct in stating your suspicions about a curved butt plate as I haven't seen a curved rubber one either. That is not to say that a straight cut done at the proper angle/pitch/drop cannot be made to replicate the feeling of the curved - but that takes someone who understands that aspect very well and not some Bubba with a grinder and a bandsaw
