I would like some advice. My dear father has seen fit to give me a gun for my birthday. Due to the fact that we live in separate states (me tx him ky) he just sent a check, with the additional statement that the original make an model was not binding, and I may choose to buy which ever firearm(s) I like. The original suggestion was a Henry Big Boy .44 Mag. I like that, but it is kinda pricey, and having only a .380 handgun right now I am in the market for two guns: a rifle for public land deer hunting and hog hunting on private land, and a shotgun for small game, mostly public land as well. Leverguns fit the bill well for my rifle purposes, but due to their price I'm still considering. I will likely use the shotty more, so I was thinking about a low end auto or over and under (leaning towards the latter) and then compromising on the rifle... maybe just a yugo sks or something. An additional argument for buying a yugo sks right now is that I am sorta gearing up for Clinton II just in case, and I know I can probably buy a marlin 336 in a couple of years... but anything with a bayonet and a grenade launcher might no longer be available. Any thoughts? Also is there any belt clip available for the kel-tec pf-9? there seems to be for the p-32 the p-3at and the p-11, seems odd not to have one for the pf-9.

The yugo SKS is a good gun but the price has gone up a lot recently. I wouldn’t worry about the SKS becoming "legally challenged" because it is classified as a C&R gun.... but who knows. Saigas are not much more than a nice SKS but they offer the benefit of being able to do a conversion later if you desire (but no bayo for those close encounters).
