Being the young buck that I am, I wasnt into firearms when Clinton signed the Assault Weapons Ban way back when. I think I was about 14 and I personally didnt get into guns until I was around 21 (give me credit I was living in Massachusetts).

There are a lot of people here that are probally more green than I am , so I thought it might be interested in listening to all of you seasoned gun owners what you would do if there was a new AWB signed in the upcoming months.

Mags? ARs etc............ What would you have done differently ??? List away.

Find your fav 'Assault Weapon', and buy one plus a buncha mags. For me, it was an AR. Nothing like mounting a bayonet on the 16" rifle. I have something like 5 or 6 30 rounders.

Don't forget pistols though, they will be affected. I need to get more mags for my Glock.

This all depends on how much money you have.

See, hi-cap mags are nice, but lets be realistic, there are a LOT already on the market, and even if they get banned, sans a few rare firearms, most won't be worth too much money....relatively speaking. A $30 AR mag might be $60-100, but unless you are gonna stock pile, its an extra $30-70 each and that isn't life and death for one or two mags.

Now if you have some cash, the .50BMG would be the ONLY item I would consider to be in some legitimate danger of new laws for the time being

...and even then I say you hear nothing of it for 6 months to a year. By then some gun grabber might finally crap their pants from holding their true agenda in too long and start a snowball effect because the Brady people and all the other ilk don't think far enough ahead to realize that the real damage will come if the Dems win in '08.

But back to guns....

.50BMG, good investment.
Tech-9, who cares.
AR-15 or AK with lots of evil features, nice to have just because.
Hi-caps, nice to have but I wouldn't break the bank on ones for firearms you don't realistically see yourself buying in the future.
A conceal carry permit, thats a good investment because if you are a good person you only add to the number of good people with guns and thats a bad statistic for the gun grabbers.

Ironicly if the anti's didn't make such a big fuss over POS, so many wouldn't have brought them.

How many now own an AK or AR due to the AWB?
