I bought six of these from various manufacturers in various colors and blade shapes, avg price about $38. They are made in China but are being OEMed by US companies at $60 - $90 albeit with D2 steel blades instead of 420 and true hidden pocket clips. The blade play is about 2x that of a S&W M&P single action for example but very serviceable and double-action.
This benchmade cla (auto). 154cm steel. Meh, im not terribly impressed. Blade shape and size is good but the edge doesn't hold up to hard use, its to be expected. I wouldn't buy it again or recomend it to a friend. That being said it has been mechanically sound, smooth and well mannered.
Step daughter came over today with one she found in cushions of the reception couch at her work
The worst example of cheap Pakistan junk I have ever seen.
Didn't even bother to sharpen it.
Took it appart, threw away the blade, and saved the rest in my spare parts and screws box.
Been probably twenty plus years since I purchased a knife.............'cept for a Leatherman Wave.
Inherited most of Dad's knives. He made knives and also collected.
Here is one he did not get to finish.
I have more knives than I will ever use, so they will be handed down to kids & grandkids.
For some reason the grandkids have been reaping the most lately.
The last knife I acquired is a Benchmade Griptillan. It was a retirement gift. I already had the mini version, so it's nice to also have the full size one.
Last few knives I bought were presents for my stepdaughters. I'll get my kids some knives when they are older and more responsible. Not counting a multitool, the last knife I bought for myself was a Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter- great folder and got it as a back up for the CS Ultimate Hunter my better half gifted to me a couple years ago.
