For a pump shotgun, mine too, was a Sears and Roebuck made by High Standard -- a 12 ga.
Dad gave it to me in 1969.
My brother lost it for me in 1974. :(

My all-time favorite waterfowler was a Harrington and Richardson 10 ga. single-shot. 2-1/2 oz. of lead #2's was absolutely deadly out to 60 yards! Sadly, the mandate of steel shot ended that. :scrutiny:

My all time favorite peasant and grouse getter is a Browning Sweet Sixteen with an improved modified choke  closely followed by dad's old Browning Double Auto 12 ga. he left me when he passed in 2006. :)

If I have to give the honors to any one shotgun, it will have to be Dad's old Double Auto. Great memories in that one. Lots of warm fuzzies, lots of laughs, no aw $#!^$ ! :) :D

This one by far it was my grandpa's. Killed my first deer with it. I miss having one. On the look out for one.

To put to my shoulder hunting, my LC Smith.

Busting clays, my Remington M11 Navy gun.

When I need to up-gun for the woods/mountains, my Mossberg 590 or old Winchester 97 *riot*.

For a long time it'd have been my Savage 24 H - Dl but that had the unfair advantage of not only being my only shotgun at the time but the only one to directly make money for me as well.

They're all tools from the same box.

Todd.

At one time I had 10 shotguns. Several of them never had a shell fired through them in my care. I kept three. The 12 ga. 1300 Winchester has a 28" VR barrel with screw-in chokes and mainly used for waterfowl. I have another barrel that is a 21" smooth bore slug barrel with sights. Stick a .665 extended choke in it and it is absolute death on a turkey with Winchester LongBeards.

I bought a Verona 501 two-barrel combo back in the 90's as my birthday present. Made by Isiodoro Rizzini it has 410 and 28 ga barrels and is gorgeous. However, it stays in the safe and hasn't been fired in 3 or 4 years.

The go to gun is Beretta BL-3 20 ga made back in the 70's. I took it to Ballistic Specialties in Batesville Arkansas and had their Angle-Ported Chokes installed. It accounts for 90% of my shotgunning, be it birds or clays.

My favorite Shotty? Hmm, don't know if that's my Remmie, my Winnie or my Mossy.:rofl::rofl:

It's a joke son....., I say, it's a joke. Just had to do it after the other active thread going on today.

Actually it's my Grandpa's ol Steven's/Fox Model B, 16 ga, bought brand new in 1940 or 41 for $25. Still my go to Pheasant gun.

All my old favorite shotguns are victims of the lead shot ban on hunting here in CA, so they were sold off or given away
My current favorite is a Basque Lanber 2097 Sporting Lux

My dad had the same gun, with the same pickle on the end:D My favorite is a ratty looking Steven's 77F 16ga. It was my first "real" shotgun (not counting the single shot .410 I had when I was 12) And in its defense, it wasn't ratty when my dad bought it for me, but I've had it since I was 14, so needless to say its had a rough life. I wasn't as fastidious about cleaning and care in my youth. But it still holds a place of honor in the safe, and is still the most comfortable shooting shotgun I own

Man thats tough. My shotguns are my babies. I feel more affinity for them than any handgun.

I would say that my sentimental favorite is my bolt action 16 gauge. It was my grandpa's. I've never shot it as I only brought it home after he died last July. Filled his stew pot for many a year when times were tough for his family. Used to tell my mom it was chicken when she was little so she didn't cry about him shooting bunnies.

My firmest handshake with a forum friend whom I've never "met" is my Ithaca 37 DSPS. He sold it to me for a great price. Police trade in he bought back in the 90s that had probably bumped around in various cruisers for 30 years. Silky smooth and slam fire fun.

My gun I would never give up is 590a1. Just a solid warhorse.

I'm not a big shotgun guy, I have a few and had a few that I've sold.
I've got an old mossberg 183 .410 bolt action that's probably worth at least $50 but it's magic for putting the lead where you want it. Full choke.
I'm fond of my Mossberg 500 , I have a cylinder bore barrel and a rifled and ported barrel barrel for it too, does anything I want a shotgun for. It holds no sentimental value though and I can get another just like it for a couple hundred bucks.
