My first was a Marlin 60 I got in 86. My brother got my grandfather's bolt action 22 in 85 and I was pretty upset that all I got was a bb gun( I guess technically that bb gun was my first.) lol. So the next year "Santa" got me my Marlin. I still have it to this day, and will have it till the day I die. Then it's off to one of my kids.

What was your first rimfire or centerfire gun? Do you still have it?

A Remington 760 Pump Action Rifle, in 30-06.

Given to me by my grandfather.
(Rather unceremoniously, as was his practical way. "Hey. Could you use this? Here.")
Of course I still have it.:)

The first firearm I ever bought myself was a Chiappa 1911-22 pistol. Just a little bit chinsy, but is functional and quite accurate, with it's frame mounted barrel.
It's a 1911, of course I still have it.:D

My first was a .38 Special Smith and Wesson Model 15-3 blued 4 inch that I kept for 9 years before trading it for a Model 19-4. The 19-4 Combat Magnum .357 will hopefully stay in the family for generations.

Sig P228....I kept it for a few years but sold it because it didn’t fit my hands right. Now I have the P226, which is a much better fit for me.

I received a used Remington 514 BR (I believe the BR stood for boy's rifle) single shot made for people with smaller frames. It taught me how to make my first shot count. Traded or sold, likely for a semi auto Marlin 60 which I rebuilt a couple times, then a Remington 77, and the latest descendant of that first rifle is a CZ 452 FS (full stock). I do keep a Keystone Cricket and a small Rock Island 22 bolt action in stock for teaching young shooters. I will always be a bolt action fan.

Mmm. Remington 1100, 12ga, late 70's production. Given to me by my grandfather. Never shot it. Has less than a box of shells through it.

H&R .22 five shot bolt action
It originally belonged to my mother’s only brother who was killed in a car accident at 19, two years before I was born. My grandfather gave it to me when I was around 12.
It hasn’t been shot in decades, but I still have it.

Tough call as it was so many years ago. My first handgun was either a Charter Arms Undercover (for right around $88), an Astra Model 600 bought from a friend of a friend for $100, or a Webley Mk.IV from a vendor at a flea market for $100+, near as I can recall. These were all in the mid to late '70s and I no longer have any of them.

What I still have is my first rifle, a Ruger 10/22, purchased new from a dealer for $68 plus tax. The scope, a Weaver K2.5 and the Uncle Mike's sling swivel mounts, were obtained shortly after I got the gun. Still a tack driver all these years later!

Sears & Roebuck label Marlin Model 60. Still have it, but it hasn't been shot in a very long time, pretty much since I got my first 10/22 -- I much prefer detachable magazines over tube magazines since I'm a plinker, although I'll admit there can be a nicer look and overall profile with tubular mags.

New England Firearms R92 .22lr revolver. Gave it to my stepson after we had no choice to put down a really cool dog with it. He's saving it for one of my granddaughters. So it's not completely out of my reach.

As a side note; now that my wife just got her grandfather's High Standard .22, I'm giving my other granddaughter my H&R Sportsman.

What I consider to be the 1st guns of mine... mine, alllll mine.

1st rifle - Ruger 10/22 as a teenager. Got it new in the early 80s as teenager. I replaced the cheap scope about 5 yrs with a budget scope. In certain areas of the Mohave desert, I think it's possible to profitably mine lead, brass, and maybe copper too.:)

1st pistol - BHP I bought new in the early 90s before the AWB and mag capacity became a thing. Still have it, too.
