i don't know, i have shot guns since i could walk, my dad worked at a very successful gun shop in NY. he would bring different guns home almost every day, and trade sell or buy others we went shooting most sundays. the first gun i bought when i turned 18 was a 98 mauser sporter. i do wish i realy know my first gun.

First gun I was given was an Ithaca M66 lever action single shot .410. I gave this gun to a friend of mine back in ‘88 to give to his boy as his first gun.

First firearm I bought was a Winchester M94 .30-30. I sold this to pay rent in college.

First handgun I bought was a Taurus 66 .357 6”. This also was sold years ago to pay rent.

The guns I’ve owned the longest are a 10-22 I bought new in 1986 from Siegel’s Guns in Oakland, Ca. and an Iver Johnson TP-22 I bought new in 1988 from Bucksport Sporting goods in Eureka,Ca.

Stay safe!

My father bought me a Winchester Model 94, .30-30 for my 15th birthday and hunting season. Unfortunately, my brother hawked it when I was away in college:mad: My first firearm purchased was when I graduated and received my Active Duty Army Commission as a 2LT way back in 1993...which I still have this day:

Firearms International Bronco single shot .22 rifle, my birthday gift in 1974. According to my Dad he went to the Bazaar department store in Eureka, CA to buy me a pellet rifle, but this little .22 rifle was cheaper. IIRC, he paid $12 for it.

It is still in my possession, but it actually belongs to my oldest daughter now. She lives out of the country so it is stored at my place for the time being.

When I was 13 my Dad gave me a Sears .22 single shot rifle. Still have it. He said it was less than $20 (this was in '68).

Like Riomouse911 the first gun I bought 5 years later was a Winchester M94 30-30, and I foolishly sold it a few years later. It was $80.

Well my "first" guns were my grandfather"s Winchester 1894 .30WCF and M12 16ga. I remember seeing them and handling them when I was little. I still have them. The first that was mine was a Marlin 989M2 semi auto .22. Unfortunately I traded it at a gun show after I got a 10/22. Since then I've picked up two replacements.

1958 when I was 8 years old my uncle and grandfather took me upstate NY to a friend of my uncle's. I dragged a little empty 22 up and down the Catskill Mountains, Then in the afternoons I was given a box of ammo and mentored on how to shoot that rifle. When Thanksgiving weekend was over, as we were ready to head back to the city, my uncle's friend Charlie gave me that rifle. It was 1958, I was 8 years old and today, at 69 years old I still have that little Remington Model 510 P. About 17 years ago there was a birthday party for my uncle turning 70 and his lifelong friend Charlie was there. He was amazed when I told him I still had that little 22 rifle. My uncle and Charlie have since passed but still have the 22 which will be passed along to my grandson along with a few other guns. :)

I would have swore we already had a first gun thread?

Stevens single-shot, octagonal barrel rifle in .22 LR, manufactured around 1918 ... awesome bluing, learned to shoot with the rifle from about age 9 on ... Grandpa gave it to Dad in the '50s. Dad sold it after I enlisted, didn't think I'd want it.

Second gun was an Ithaca .22 lever-action mini-clone of the Win. 94 ... bought at a Montgomery Wards store in the late '60s.
