Whats going to happen to handgun prices in MO?

Even though I've been able to carry for years due to my job I fought for Missouri to finally get CCW permits. My first reaction on hearing the good news was YAHOO! My second and more selfish thought was "Oh crap, big gun show in two weeks, prices are gonna be out of sight."

Anyone been in a state where concealed carry just went through and notice any major changes right after???

If I was a keen shrewd business man in the retail gun industry in Missouri(which I'm not)I'd lower my profit margin and gain volume.Instead of making a lot on a few,make a little on a whole lot.I'd be having a CCW Blow Out Sale.

That's precisely why I bought my SP101 in July right before the veto. As it was, I had to hunt to find a .357 mag version...

Really glad I bought it then. We have a gun show in KC this weekend, if I make it up there, I'll post here if I notice any price changes.

Good news! We're in a free market society. While gun dealers in MO could decide to gouge us on concealable handguns, I can exercise my right to buy perfectly good handguns off the internet. Not only can I purchase guns from guys posting sells here, both GunsAmerica.com and Gunbroker.com have great deals for those willing to search. If my local guy keeps his head on straight, I'll continue to buy from him. Otherwise, it's all Net baby.

My local gunrange, Bullseye Shooting Range, is already showing their true colors. While they will be doing concealed carry classes there, if another Certified Pistol Instructor brings a client in to qualify, they're going to charge a range fee of about 4 times what they'd charge a normal guy to shoot there. The owner has also said he would report the instructors to the Better Business Bureau, whatever good that will do him. Instead of getting the business and probably selling more guns, they're going to take the low road and risk upsetting a lot of members. Oh yeah, the annual membership dues have also gone up.

Prices didn't change at the time in Michigan. I know that because I bought 3 guns around that time and was never surprised, except the LOW price I got on my Glock.

What's Missouri's economy like? Around here shops are packed with trades and guns sold outright. Unless it's something special shopowners don't even want a trade. This has curtailed (sp?) my gun buying since 90% of the gun purchases I make include a trade. On the positive side, cash will get you a much greater discount on a used gun. We've had CCW forever. Any carry style gun holds it's price well.

Our economy actually seems to be coming back just a bit lately. Still get over 70 applicants for every $10 an hour job advertised in my area but seems folks are spending a tad more.

Went on a 200 mile gun shop safari Saturday, met lots of excited owners telling every customer about the legislation, but saw no big increases over night from the news at least

I just got back from a gun show in Kansas City and didn't notice any increase in price. However prices in KC seem high already compared to other areas in the country. I was looking at a Keltac 32 and asked the dealer if he was going to be stocking up on them and he just gave a funny look. Many of the Dealers seemed clueless that small guns would be in demand. I'm retired LEO and I'm going to wait to see if the LEO Safety Act passes. Then I can carry anywhere in the country and save the $100 they want to charge for a ccw permit.

Did you go to the GS at the KCI expo center? I thought it was depressingly small.(all I bought was some 3n37 and primers ) I look forward to the upcoming show in topeka....

Handgun prices appeared normal... (IE 10% above what my local shops offer)

I spotted a table selling winchester 100 'value pack' 9mm for $15.... heh.
