So I'm already a NRA lifer. Pierre sent me a check for $725 to help me upgrade to the Endowment lifer.

Other than the $275 they get and the wall hanging I get, is there any additional benefit to the NRA or me? I don't go to their dinners.

Thanks,

your phone number goes higher on their list of people to call looking for a handout. wonder if they have pierre on that list.

I guess we all, life members, got this same offer. The NRA is the only organization I support so I guess I might as well upgrade my membership if I'm going to send them some cash anyway. They can keep the gift and put the money to better use. It’s kind of like school kids selling candy bars to raise money. If I’m going to give you money I want all of it to go toward the cause, just tell me how much you really need. Besides I’m fat and don’t need any candy bars or wall plaques for that matter.

My wife was getting tired of the NRA calling so I sent them some money and wrote them a nice note saying that if they called my house I would no longer contribute. Seems to be working, they haven't called in months.

They way I look at it, if I am not willing to support them (read give money) than why should I be a member? Same holds true with any organization, why join if you don't intend to support.

The benefit of lording it over your fellow internet community members via your signature line or bragging in your profile.:D

Seriously though, this is all I could find...

Endowment, Patron and Benefactor members are eligible to vote in NRA elections, receive special recognition at NRA events, and are sent credentials including a certificate suitable for framing, a lapel pin, a decal, a patch, and a new membership card so you can proudly display your membership status.

The benefit is that you know that you are doing all you can to support the RKBA and by extension the United States.

Thank you

I am also an NRA supporter and I do not understand the psychology behind supporting RKBA but then blaming everything on the NRA. I guess that is just more proof that people LOVE to HATE success.

Endowment Memberships last longer. :D

Last I looked Life Members could vote in NRA elections too.

I am not really sure what the added bonus is but I got a nice NRA windbreaker when I upgraded.:D

At the time I upgraded I had the extra cash and thought that it was a good a way as any to spend some gun money.

I received my offer to upgrade from Member to Life Membership today. Possibly based on the fact that I have been steadily donating as often as I can since I joined.

Even with the check, it will still cost $600 to upgrade to Life Member but I'm seriously considering it. At 68 yrs of age it is not necessarily a great 'deal' for me, but I do want to do what I can to continue to support NRA and what they do for us and our country.

I upgraded in 2007 and got the windbreaker. I wear it a lot in the winter.

I send them money pretty often, so I figured I might as well get a jacket out of it in addition to all the good they do for our RKBA.

Been an Endowment Lifer for years, the benefit is that you periodically get offers to upgrade to Patron Life.

The main benefit is supporting the organization that works hard for us. Any group that is constantly attacked by anti-gun editorials in the NY Times and Philadelphia Inquirer is worth our continuing support.

I've been a Life Member for decades and I vote. I don't see the benefit except there is a title, and your donating more money. I send money anyway and/or support them at the dinners with money.

Just a comment on NRA Life Membership an not Endowment Membership. Several years ago the NRA had a special policy on discount Life Memberships for Senior Citizens and Handicapped/DAV Veterans. Anyone who can quailfy should contact the NRA for these special prices. :)
