My Grandpa left me a Moore and Co. 12 guage side by side. Unfortunately, my dad and uncles turned it into a wall hanger by shooting modern ammo through the damascus barrels. He bought it used so i have no idea how old, or any history of the gun or company. On my list of things to do though.

A Springfield 45-70 Trapdoor rifle, from the serial number it was probably made in the early 1880's, Next oldest gun is a 30-40 Krag-Jorgenson M1896 carbine, and a M1898 Rifle, and another 1898 carbine (till recently my main deer gun) and a cut down Krag of 1898 vintage, (my replacement deer rifle) need I mention that I am a Krag fan.:D.
My oldest pistol is a Mauser .30 cal. C96 of uncertain vintage.

Two Mosin Nagants

Oldest Rifles:
I have a 1943 M91/30 w/ detachable bayonet
I have a 1944 M44 w/ folding bayonet

Both of them came from the Ishvek armory. The only Russian armory not to be disturbed during WWII. I bought them at two different stores, two years apart. I thought it was strange getting two from the same armory. My younger brother bought a German 8mm Mauser at the same time. I made the joke that our guns might shoot at each other if we left them alone.

(I was going to copy paste, but Im sure there's a copyright)

Oldest Pistol:
Cobray Mod. R ~ .22lr 6rd ~ I think its from 1992ish. My grandpa collected unique guns, and he LOVED to shoot! He bought this to shoot at moles with. Its the only gun I got from his collection after he passed. The remainder of his impressive pile of steel, was passed to his oldest son. And he put them in a safe, where they have sat for a decade.

LOL!!! thanks for the link!

The oldest gun that I now own is a sweet little Remington model 4 in 22LR that according to the Remington Society was manufactured some time in 1912. The barrel has been resleeved and there is the usual dings and scraps which makes this gun more of a shooter then a collector. But I'll have great fun teaching my grandchildren how to shoot with this little gun!

My father gave me this old rusted Colt .32 semi-automatic.
I've never fired it yet

Early 18th century (could be 17th, nobody seems to know for sure) flintlock "axe pistol" I inherited from my father in early 80's. All markings are long gone and the best guess so far is that it's a polish cavalry model that found its way to northern Europe at some point.

The oldest gun I've bought myself is a 1916 mfg date Winchester 1895 lever action. It has been rebarreled at least once and will be again, to a more common modern big game caliber.

Mine would be an 1884 Model "Trapdoor" Springfield (made in 1889). I have fired it, and that made me want a .45-70 that I would not mind firing more often.

I have a CZ50,32acp,that I know was made in 1950. I also have a Kirikkale Tufek Fb,9mm short(380),that is marked "1948". I think that's when it was made, but I can't find out much of anything about it. They are both still good shooters.

I have a 7XX,XXX 1903 Springfield with a production date of approximately 1918 I think? It originally belonged to my maternal grandmother's father. My grandmother's younger brother died in a car accident at age 17 in 1955 and her older brother had MS and passed away around 1985 or so. My grandfather received the rifle from him and eventually passed it on to me since I joined the military and was the only one out of my two brothers that showed any interest in history or firearms.

1878 Springfield .45-70, mfg. in 1884. have the original bayonet too.

Still shoots and functions like it was brand new.

Old Guns

I had a Springfield Trapdoor 1888 model if I remember right. Now none of my guns but one are from the mid 30s. Luger from 1915 2nd Torpedo Div is the oldest now.

But because I have posted the photo in another tread they won't let me post it again. This is the toggle of said Navy Luger from 1915.

A Remington single shot 22 [model 530, I think] that I bought when I was eleven in 1955. I paid $9.95 for it. Besides the 22, since I had two home burglaries in August, 10 and February, 11 that wiped out my collection, nearly all my guns are new. The exception is a 1996 build German P220, that was recovered from the August theft.

Colt Police Positive in .38 Spl. According to Colt it was made in 1932. It still has 95% of original finish, locks up like Ft. Knox, and had the slickest double action trigger pull I've ever felt. It's true, they don't make 'em like they used to.
