I see a lot of guys talking about SHTF. I know the economy isn't great and there certainly is cause for concern, but I think people have watched too many Hollywood productions - too many action movies. I picture most of these SHTF people thinking that they'll be running through the woods or streets with a high-cap pistol on their side, hoards of magazines strapped to their tactical/survival vest, and semi-auto rifle battle rifle, shooting a countless number of evil doers. Do you guys picture yourselves using your home as a makeshift bunker, fighting off waves of thieves and robbers? Do you really think that you are going to put more than 5-10 rounds through any rifle if S really does HTF? In my opinion, this whole SHTF stuff is just a bit too much, overly exaggerated. I'm not buying in to it and think the whole premise is a bit silly. It's a stretch and some people seem to be a little too eager to be in a SHTF scenario.
So many are talking about this, but why? Why are so many people, all of the sudden, enamored with a SHTF scenario and trying to get the perfect SHTF gun?
Disclaimer: Please keep this civil. I am actually curious about this SHTF phenomenon that I see on so many gun boards and look forward to hearing your responses.
