What's your favorite ccw holster for a 1911?

Forgot about the old Yaqui slide. Dug mine out of storage and have it on now, very comfortable but it's still an OWB.
Placed an order for a Remora IWB to try out. Chose it over the Sticky brand because of the reinforced mouth and several youtube'rs preferred them claiming the material sticks a bit better.

Tried more styles, materials, configurations and angles than I want to think about.
For ME, the Galco Combat master is the best choice.

My favorite is the inside the waistband holster from DeSantis. Mine is the IWB Mad Max leather. I still prefer real leather over composite holsters.

Hidden Hybrid, won one couple years back and after break in it’s extremely comfortable.

As to the belt, if it’s a gun belt you need to cinch it tighter…like you I have no arse. When I carry I go at least one hole tighter and in some cases two. As long as I’m standing/walking it isn’t too bad, but setting isn’t comfortable. If I know I’ll be setting a lot the Miami Classic comes out. I’ve been telling myself I need to look into suspenders but haven’t yet.

My favorite is a Stoner Stormer shoulder rig. It rotates horizontal when drawing the pistol and snaps back to allow the pistol to be re-holstered. It is very comfortable

That is quite the phenomenal shoulder holster. I would only be able to wear it in formal wear with a jacket though. Might be worth it once my 1911 is done.

For $250 it's a bargain !!!! I put on a zip up hoodie and the 1911 disappears.

For a Yaqui slide holster I have an older Don Hume version but really like this Bianchi Minimalist holster i picked up a few years back when I couldn't find a holster for a new gun I had just bought. Have found it takes any number of different size guns and is a very secure fit.

For OWB, it's hard to beat a good pancake. IWB, I'd look at a hybrid, like the Crossbreed Super Tuck, Alien Gear Cloak Tuck, etc.

Simply Rugged makes an awfully nice pancake that can be had with straps to convert it to IWB. I don't have one for a 1911, but had one for a Super Blackhawk, and it was a fantastic way to tote that hogleg.

To me this doesn't sound like a holster problem. More like a belt problem. You need a stiff 1.5" belt that's made to support a holster. I have a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 holster for my Kimber Ultra Carry II with a Beltman stiff gun belt and that platform is rock solid.

Good luck with your search.
