Please remember it is the NRA Institute for Legislative Action, NRA-ILA, that is the arm of the NRA that is "the gun lobby." From their website, with my emphasis added:
About the NRA-ILA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who We Are, And What We Do
Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the “lobbying†arm of the National Rifle Association of America. ILA is committed to preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

NRA, ILA And The NRA Political Victory Fund
The Institute receives some funding from NRA member dues, but its main source of revenue is derived from member contributions designated for legislative activity—ILA is not associated with any firearms or ammunition manufacturers.
If you are dissatisfied by the efforts or lack thereof on the part of NRA-ILA, then tell them so:

NRA-ILA
11250 Waples Mill Road
Fairfax, Virginia 22030

And don't contribute any money directly to the Political Victory Fund. Considering the real, concrete actions the NRA takes in perpetuating our way of life (sponsoring competitions, training and certifying instructors, providing safety training, etc.), quitting your NRA membership does real harm to our cause.
