Does anyone know of a online vendor besides the auction sites that still have M44 or M38 Mosin Nagants available? My C&R expires in a few months and I'm considering not renewing, but I'd like to get one of each before I give it up. I never thought we see Mosin Nagant rifles dry up but there just aren't that many out there. Hopefully another shipment will come in soon-that was how the RC 98k Mausers were a few years ago, almost no one had any available and the BOOM a ship clears customs and they are all over the place.

91/30's are pretty easy to find for under $100, but I haven't been able to find a '44 or '38 (and I really want to). Best bet might be to hit the local shows and stores and see what's in stock?

I drove to about twenty pawn shops the other day and only ran into 2 mosins. I don't know where they all went

i think there were alot of them on the market untill people found out how much fun they are to shoot.. and how cheap to buy and shoot.. i have baught 4 of them.. a 91/30 and a 38 .. for my own use. i baught 2 44s to give as preasants. one to the father inlaw and one to my dad.. they both have as much fun with them as i do. and for what its worth. the 91/30 is my favorite.. bang gongs all day long at 200 yards.. and i have found that its also my sons and his friends favorite to shoot.. they choose it even over the sks and ak..

I bet we'll get another batch one of these days. Right now every place is trying to cash in on black guns, so there's not much incentive to import Mosins. Once the EBR panic subsides we'll see more of them.

The 44s have dried up. There are presumably many more still in storage in the Ukraine and whatnot, but they aren't making it over here for some reason or another (lack of demand from resellers? import restrictions? tariffs? who knows).

I'd like to buy a 38 or at least another 44 at some point in the future, because the M44 I do have is a cosmetically attractive specimen (all matching, too), but not exactly the greatest shooter (my 91/30, for the sake of contrast, is a great shooter but not the nicest thing to look at).

i like gunsand ammo (the people that sell the finnish 39s because they describe the rifle accuratly so you are actually buying a particular rifle. they have various non fin mosins at the bottom of the site. R guns, SOG has interesting variations MO, 1943 made M44s (but SOGs new web site is beyond impossible and has left me in the cold despite having bought 3-4 rifles thru my CR). i just like being able to see a picture and read a description of the actual rifle i am buying, versus "$25,hand picked", whatever that means.
