Does anyone that buys from powder valley know if a person puts primers in the cart, check out and pay will they ship first when they are available? They do not say if backorder is ok.
If they list it on their website, but show out of stock, they will allow backorder. If they don't allow a backorder on an item, they will de-list it off their site. At least that's the way it worked back in 08-09.

Friend of mine has independent motorcycle shop & online motorcycle accessory business. He recently came into some money to invest into business and decided to diversify into an online shooting accessory store. Currently at Shot Show setting up suppliers and placing opening orders. He has already paid for and has verification of shipment on way to his business of 300,000 primers not counting mine that I added to fatten his initial order and get a better volume discount. Of those 100,000 are CCI small rifle. When he returns from Vegas and gets a few details sorted out he will ship anywhere in continental USA. Take about a week. If any of you need some, send me a pm middle of next week and will give you his contact info before they roll onto his website for any Google searchers to find and buy.

best place to find primers is at small out of the way gun shops, all the major ones are sold out and those that are selling are asking prices that are down right crazy. I did some checking around at the small gun shops in my area and found a guy that had primers for 39.00 for a thousand. When I went there He had quite a few, simply because he sells locally only and many do not reload in the area. Do a little looking and you may find some small shop in your area that sells for a reasonable price.

Darn, why did I do that? I went to the Midway site (I am a regular customer) and sure enough they got small pistol primers. I looked at the price for 1000 for $20 and thought "dang, $27.50 HazMat + $18.50 UPS shipping just for a $20 product. Soooooooo, yep I ordered 5 bricks for $99. Now, how in the heck will I ever use them all up? Anyway maybe one of my local buddies will trade me some 357 brass for a brick of em.:D

Powder Valley has currently got Tula small rifle primers in stock right now. These are not recommended for full power 5.56 load or ball powders but they work fine with extruded powders and a small pistol primers as well.

Good that Natchez has them back in stock. But at a limit of two, that puts them over $50 per K with hazmat. Two K is not a very economical buy quantity.

My local WalMart has CCI Magnum Large Pistol Primers. 8 boxes of 1,000 each. $39.70 plus tax. No other primers on the shelf there.

Has anyone ever ordered from Lohman Arms in Texas. I just placed and order for 5000 Rem 71/2 primers and they appeared to either be in stock or backorderable. The price was not too bad at @ $230 including shipping and hazmat. I am curious as to others experience with these folks as I have never even heard of them. I also can report that you don't want to even think about using NorthGeorgiaReloading as a source. I had an order for H335 and Rem 7 1/2 primer with them from Jan 9. I called the end of Jan and everything was "fine" "You are on the list" "You will get them as soon as we get them". I called today and was told that the "girl who has hazmat certs had lost her job" and they would ship ammo and not powder or primers as it was too expensive to certify anyone else. I asked about some notification maybe have been nice and was told they did not have time for that because they were loading ammo 10hrs a day 7 days a week. They said I could pick up supplies but they didn't have anythng I wanted as they were using all it anyway. Since I live in VA I wasn't really interested in driving to GA to pick up anyway.

A 3-Day Dangerous Goods Seminar (HAZMAT Training) is typically a 3 day affair with a price tag of about $1,000 so really not very expensive for a business selling powder and primers. Smells like BS to me.

Never heard of Lohman Arms in Texas. However, something I didn't like about their website is how they mention:

Due to the unprecedented volume of orders, the website may not be updated as frequently as we would like. Accordingly, some items that are listed as in stock may be on back order.

Everything I looked at would seem to be in stock, at least I saw nothing as back order. Most sites are pretty current or close to current but theirs makes it look like everything is in stock, which I highly doubt. Let us know what you hear, I would be curious.

I know Midway expects BR small rifle in I think early March.

I ordered 5000 spp and some powder on Jan 8. I received a phone call from them the next day to tell me they are out of the primers but they would send the powder out if I needed it right away. I told them to send everything together and they said it would probably be in March sometime. Still waiting.

I just ordered 10K CCI LPP for my 10mm and .45ACP from Cabela's. E-mail stated ship date of 3/11.

Ordered 5K CCI SPP in Jan (took a stab at a backorder listing 2-3 weeks) and got them delivered within a week. That's probably the smallest order I would do for primers, because of the hazmat fee.
