In April I backordered a case each of Winchester SP, LP, LR and LRM from Cabelas. They just notified me that they shipped the LPs, and LRs. Finally. The SPs and LRM are anticipated in early January. We'll see.

got mine from cabela's

i ordered primers earlier this spring and had to wait about 2 months to receive them. i used "bill me later" vs. a credit card. i don't know if that made a difference as i had seen other threads where people's orders were canceled when using credit cards. maybe cabela's was getting many cancellations due to people doing multiple orders from vendors and then dropping those orders upon receipt (causes pain for retailers). my advice is to put an order in with a reputable vendor and start the waiting game--make your purchase worth the cost of hazmat costs (get 5-10k) and you should be good.

good luck!;)

put in the order a powder valley and start waiting. took me around 6 months to get more wolf in but it finally came in as well as my varget. now, just waiting on my fed gold medal match primers which will probably take a couple more months.

At any PA gun show. I was at a show last week in the Poconos and the dealer had 100 cases of 5,000 per case Wolf primers on the table. $134.99 per 5,000.

It was a beautiful thing - I drove up to the shop, about 10 miles off of Interstate 20.

There, stacked on the shelf, were bricks of primers - small pistol primers - priced at $40 a brick.

I asked the clerk, "So, how many of these can I buy?"

He turned to the owner, "Are we still limiting the amount of primers for sale?"

The owner grunted, "Naw, we just got a big shipment in."

My knees went weak. This is what it must have been like back in those legendary days the old-timers spoke of - when anyone could walk into a store and just buy primers, like it was no big deal.

"I'll...I'll take a brick..." I stammered as I took the box from the shelf. I could hardly believe it - a thousand primers - no waiting - not unreasonably priced.

"No," I said - my voice steadying. I stood tall seeing the promise of better days ahead - "I'll take two."

I was just at the Sportsmans Warehouse in Columbia, SC and they have four 1000 count boxes of Remington LR primers left on the shelf.

My Graf and Sons order for 5K Federal SPPs came in this past week. It was on order for just over a month. With shipping and fees, it came to over $30/K.

This is the longest, I've had to wait at Graf & Sons.

I bought 5000 off the shelf here in Houston at a local sporting goods place. 3000 large rifles, 2000 small rifles. I was looking for small pistol but they were out. They even had a variety. I would guess they had about 20,000 available for sale on the shelves. Pretty much anything you wanted but small pistol primers.

I also noted that the store was very well stocked with bullets, brass and powder. This is a place that a few years ago it was nearly deserted of reloading gear. I was pleased to say the least.

I should add, it was Carter's country, I-10 at Voss.

I again went to Cabelas, but they were out of CCI small pistol primers, but had some in Federal. I asked if I could buy a brick and they said I could if they were not the only ones they had, if they were they would have to sell them by 100's.

He went in back and said there were plenty, so I could take at least 1000. :D They cost I think $33
Oh, and they had plenty of powder in 1lb containers. I picked up some HP38 too ;)
