Thanks for posting that. I think I got about the same shipping rate (UPS) from Powder Valley last year. Went there after X-Treme wanted $30 to ship 4,000. Is your order coming UPS or USPS?

I was used to using X-Treme (still have some) but I found I didn't have to adjust my dies using Berry's 115g 9mm and they shoot very well.

I have used a LOT of Xtreme bullets, but recently I looked to buy some when I got a "10% off sitewide" email. I saw the shipping cost, and ended up buying RMR bullets instead, as the THR 5% discount and free shipping were cheaper. In most cases, the regular plated bullets from RMR are virtually identical to Xtreme, and I have had no issues using the same COL and charge amounts (I don't load anywhere near max).

I agree, Toprudder. There are a number of good choices out there.

Sorry to see X-Treme fall by the wayside, but we have to be careful shoppers, especially with the bounty of choices we're lucky enough to have.

I have my own (unconfirmed) thoughts on that,,, Mainly as I believe Extreme is located 'just up the road' from RMR,,,,
Can only imagine the opportunity might be beneficial for everyone involved,,,,

I thought the same thing, but I just bought some 40 cal 180gn bullets from RMR and they were a slightly different profile from the Xtremes I have.

Just to add a plus one story to Midsouth shooters supply. My parents live in the Clarksville TN area, and they often pick up items for me to avoid shipping costs to the west side of TN. Last week they picked up a few items for me. It was raining and the owner was nice enough to escort my mom to her car with an umbrella. Wont get that kind of service form big box stores.

They are not the same - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...ng-at-25-50-yards.808446/page-3#post-10470195

RMR Regular: .008" - .010" (rated to 1400 fps) - https://www.rmrbullets.com/shop/bullets/9mm-115-grain-rmr-plated-round-nose-bullets-new/
These bullets have a thicker plating than most plated bullets. We do not recommend exceeding 1,400 FPS.

RMR Hardcore Match (Thick plated): .012" - .014" (rated to 1500 fps, 11-12 BHN) - (No longer available as their in-house jacketed bullets replaced them at lower price)

X-Treme Regular: .006" - .008" (rated to 1200 fps?) - http://www.xtremebullets.com/Bullet-Load-Info-s/1952.htm
They used to list 1200 fps as rating for their regular plated bullets but now says following on the website
Our Copper Plated Bullets can be run at mid-range jacketed velocities or higher end lead velocities. We recommend keeping velocities to less than 1500 FPS (Feet Per Second) and using only a light taper crimp

Any velocities over 1200 FPS we recommend either our Heavy Plate Concave Base or Hollow Point products for superior accuracy.

X-Treme Heavy Plate Concave Base/Hollow Point (HPCB/HP): .008" - .010" (rated to 1500 fps) -

That is tempting deal there. If their 124 gr. JHP had been included, I think I would gave to order some. :)

I did say "virtually". :)

For the regular plated bullets from RMR (not the hardcore) and the regular plated from Xtreme (not the HPCB) the bullets are close enough that I don't have to treat them differently as far a seating depth or powder charge, at least in the 45 200 and 230, or the 9mm 115 and 124 plated bullets.

The hardcore bullets from RMR are a totally different beast. The 45 230HM bullets have a totally different profile and have to be seated much shorter than the regular 230 plated bullets.

Sorry for straying from normal topic, but related to above posts.

Not sure you can tell from this picture, hard to get a good shot with my camera. Left to right; X-Treme, The Blue Bullets and RMR regular plated/coated 9mm.

I can seat all (including Berry's) but RMR bullets without some adjustment. OAL with my current setting. Normal for me is 1.148 and RMR will seat at 1.151. Not a great difference but one I'd adjust for.

I just got an email from PrecisionReloading.com advertising Herco, Red Dot, and Unique on clearance for $129.99 per 8lb jug. Are you kidding me?

I’ve never used any of these...but that sounds like a deal to me!

I like Red Dot for 9mm and 45ACP and in recent years, replaced Red Dot with Promo for my economic yet accurate "plinking" 9mm pistol and carbine loads as 100% case fill loads (Per Alliant, I use Promo with Red Dot load data by weight). And Promo has been better "blended" recently to meter better. I usually get .2+ gr variance with Red Dot and now get around .1 gr variance with new "blended" Promo (which is same as W231/HP-38) - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...blended-promo-for-more-accurate-loads.841097/

BTW, Recob's Target Shop has Promo for $111 / 8 lbs - https://recobstargetshop.com/product/promo-8-alliant-powder__trashed/

I like Herco for 40S&W as it burns clean (even leaves inside of cases clean) and produces very accurate loads. But I like BE-86 for 40S&W even better and Recob's has it for $129 / 8 lbs - https://recobstargetshop.com/product/be-86-8-alliant-powder-versatile-easy-metering/

RMR's new in-house bullets and pulled Speer Gold Dot (Use thehighroad5 code and THR ID in the order comment box for 5% discount. Free shipping on all orders):

9mm 135 gr FP Match Winner $82.95/1000 with 5% THR discount (With longer base than 125 gr FP Match Winner, should produce greater accuracy and easier to meet power factor) - https://www.rmrbullets.com/shop/rmr-in-house/9mm-135-gr-rmr-flat-point-matchwinner/

9mm 115 gr MPR JHP $91.20/1000 with 5% THR discount - https://www.rmrbullets.com/shop/rmr...ollow-point-mini-multi-purpose-round-bullets/

Pulled 9mm Speer 125 gr Gold Dot HP $128.25/1000 with 5% THR discount - https://www.rmrbullets.com/shop/bullets/9mm-124-gr-speer-gold-dot-hp-pulled-2/

I happened to be on Midways website and they are now advertising that’s powder and primers ship in one box now. No separate shipping and hazmat for powders and primers. Their Hazmat fee is $10.99 at the moment. I’m not sure if this is rate is new because I haven’t bought from them in a while. Just FYI

MidwayUSA also is having a clearance sale on select Hornady Ammunition. Picked up 30-06 for 14 dollars and some change. When a box of 20 rounds runs a lil over 30 bones in my area. I bought 15 boxes needles to say.
