Where can I get these Faux Turquois 1911 Grips--Pic

Where can I get a set of Faux Turquoise Grips like these for my 1911? See Photo

I love these and want a pair. Tried Google etc...and no luck

sorry, I don't know the where.. but I know the when - 1955?!

At least a 1911 with those will stand out, nor ever get lost. (Also much nicer looking than guns decorated with the 'Midas' touch IMHO)

I have seen those and similar somewhere. One of the major on-line grip vendors. I will try to remember where and come back and post a link later or next time I run across the site.

That reminds me, I've been meaning to snap photos of these grips I got last week. I have been trying for months to find the "right" grips for this Colt Commander I got late winter/early spring. I have tried stock, CMC thins, vintage Colt sandblast, some pewter scroll ones, nothing looked correct. Got these off Gunbroker for a great deal and I am happy as a clam now. The ivory look and the turquoise inlay work great with the matte bluing, I think:

All these replies and only Oro even attempted to answer the question or offer help. What a nice board community

I would almost bet that they are a custom job. Maybe somebody had a big chunk of turquoise and had them made??? I also googled for about 1/2 hour and found nothing like them.

I tried some of the grip web sites I know and nothing quite like that. But I have seen someone who makes resin and synthetic patterns like this. Did you try Ebay? A lot of small makers sell their wares there. I will keep an eye out.

Suspect they're custom too. Likely synthetic or painted wood. Those supposedly came out of the Colt Custom shop. If you want grips like that you'll have to find a custom grip maker and pay big bucks.

Supernaut's Punisher panels just went to the top of the "must have panels" for 1911s with the intro of these beauties.

OP,

Try one of these; maybe they know of someone if they don't have 'em:

http://www.ajaxgrips.com/ajax/ajax?set=30 Has a variety of, oh Lord, colors.

http://customknivesandpistolgrips.com/services.html Has tq inlaid w/ stag,etc

http://raascogrips.com/ta19gr.html

Everyone else, please forgive my contribution to the continued "blinging" our our beloved 1911...but to each his own!

Take care,
DFW1911

Or come out here and see a Navajo Indian, maybe they can make a REALLY custom set, even though they'd have to be inlaid, to avoid destruction under recoil.

Come to think of it, that would be really neat, one of a kind setup.
