Paul, bought a bunch reload stuff there as well. The grips are near the restroom.
I like ft. Tom as well. Dons feels more like a gun store should be, but i am all about paying less for you are looking for.
I bought a New Ruger Blackhawk 45ACP/45 Colt convertible revolver in Sept. I wanted a new set of artificial stag grip for it (can't afford real stag). I got a set that fit the Blackhawk from Altamontco.com for less than $50.00. They were good looking and dressed it up nicely. The New Blackhawk is built on the mid weight 357 frame. You will need the grips that fit the New Vaquero, 50th Anniversary .357 Blackhawk "Flattop" (2005). Do Not get grips for the RED XR3 frame they won't fit the new XR3 mid weight frame.
That's got to be one of the nicest looking set of faux stag grips I have ever seen. For someone on a budget in terms of replacement grips that's a pretty good way to go.
Got the grips I ordered from Eagle. The UltraIvory fit the Schofield fairly well but the grain is so subtle, you really have to look for it. The oversized target grips for the GP also fit fairly well but they're actually a bit short and still not as comfortable as a S&W with Ropers. Not bad for what I paid for them. The search continues.....
I really appreciate everyone's replies and photos in this thread.
I have contacted Private Schultz in regards to the American Holly grips in bannockburn's photo in post #7.
I do love the elk antler by Sack Peterson but can't do that at this time. However, I am looking to make a trade for another Blackhawk soon and maybe I'll be able to go all out on that one at some point.
Anyway, thanks for the replies. I'll post pics when on the gun when I get them.
