Howdy everyone

So a few years ago my wonderful bride purchased me a ruger 10-22 carbine which is wonderful and now I am wanting to upgrade it the first thing I want to do is get a very nice piece of walnut for it any suggestions I am wanting a very pretty functional/accurate squirrel rifle!

Sorry but don't understand whether you want a stock blank or a finished stock for a drop-in action. I second Boyd's for the finished drop-in option.

If laminate stocks are ok with you I got one from Boyd’s for a Ruger American .22 WMR to replace the black plastic blah-looking factory stock that came on it.

Simple drop in installation, it took me about ten minutes from start to finish ((I sanded a bit of the barrel channel to assure a free float all the way down.)

The top target on the bottom picture were the first few shots I fired to see where the zero went to. There was almost no zero movement, it shot about 1/2” low, dead center. A few turns of the scope turrets and it was right where I want it.

Good luck finding what you like, Boyd’s has all sorts of good stuff .

Stay safe.

Call Ruger. Ask them how much to buy a replacement stock for this. IME Ruger is pretty easy to deal with and will sell replacement stocks at reasonable prices.

Or just buy one of these complete rifles. If you want to keep the rifle with sentimental value swap stocks then sell the new rifle with the old stock. Or keep both rifles.

One caveat about Boyd's stocks: if you're planning on doing your own finishing, be sure to order with the "unfinished" option (which surprisingly is $10 extra) because the finish they put on there could possibly survive a direct nuclear hit.

Try Richards microfit gunstocks, they come unfinished but ive heard the finishing process isnt too bad. They have some NICE wood stocks, or laminate if you like.
