Which 3x9 for hunting bolt 22? Willing to cry once

I use a Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40 on one of my Marlin 25’s. It’s parallax is set at 100 yards, but it works just fine. You can find them new for around $100 on sale, and even cheaper used.
