A quality SS free floated barrel should give you sub MOA accuracy with the right ammo. With a non-free floated, chrome-lined "fighting rifle" barrel you'll be lucky to get 1.5 MOA, probably more like 2.0. Does this matter? Maybe, maybe not, but I read the OP to mean that it does.

Very high road....whatever the hell that means, I'm just offering my opinion based on experience. What's yours? Do you own chrome-lined carbines that shoot sub MOA?

The Palmetto State barrel is stainless, so "chrome-lined" doesn't enter into this equation.;)

Not yet, because I'm not capable of shooting sub MOA because I can't see a target 100 yards away without a scope. I'm sure that there are many chrome lined barrels out there that will shoot sub 1 MOA, but since most people can't, they don't get recognized as such. People who buy SS barrels and free float forends tend to put more effort, and money, into setting them up properly to shoot tiny groups.

My experience, here at the High Road, is that most members try to live up to the forum's name by being respectful of one another.
