I'm looking at the new "pill bottle" micro-cans, both the Tornado Tech Oxy-22 and the GSL Pill Box. Does anyone have any experience with either?

This would not be my first .22 can...nor my second or even third. But they are appealing for the super-small size. TIA.

I would second the recommendation for machV. I have not ever handled his projects, or products, but he is incredibly open and up front about what he does and he gives great attention to detail. That tells me that his products will follow a pattern that I really like in the gun world in that the companies who start throwing out numbers, specs, and actually detailing their products. These things are in my opinion a statement in workmanship because if the other guys know the materials, design, and sizes then it’s left to a question of who has the highest quality work. Watch some of the eccomachine videos on YouTube and you will see who does good work.

Thanks for the mention, guys. Appreciate it!

The performance of the true pill bottle cans is as disappointing as the assertion that they're worth $300 is insulting to the prospective buyers. Just barely hearing safe with fresh ablative and a new wipe, they only knock down about 8 dB, and considering that I make everything on manual machines and could build either of those profitably for $125, you should, quite frankly, give both of those companies the one finger salute unless/until they knock down prices by 60% or more.

I think you'll find a pill bottle can nothing more than a novelty conversation piece, a $500 keychain fidget. Especially if you already have a Q erector and two other respectable rimfire cans.

I have a small collection of cans: 13 for my .22 rifles and 1 for my 12g.
The smallest can I have is the Phantom Power, made in New Zealand. It's longer than a pill bottle but very narrow. Doesn't suppress as well as my other cans.

I just ordered a rugged oculus 22; it’s modular, so it’s either 3.5 inches or so or 5.5 ish.

It’s pretty small.

MachIVshooter has threaded a bunch of barrels for me and has done fantastic work! His prices are also great!

I’m planning to have him make my next suppressor. I was originally thinking of my Walther TPH but am now planning on going with a Baby Browning. He will make you a real custom suppressor however you want it for a great price!

Those super micro cans like the Oxy-22 are just too small to be effective. The GSL pill box doesn’t even look like it has a single baffle. I would want something with at least a couple baffles and a wipe at the end.

I have a Thompson Machine WASP on a Beretta Minx that I’m very happy with. Its just basic Monocore technology but with lithium grease and a wipe does very well suppressing the .22 short. However baffles always seem quieter than monocore and as small as these suppressors are you want all the advantages you can get.

Dan,

I've thought about suppressing my Bauer .25, which is a copy of the Baby Browning. What are you doing about the barrel not extending far enough from the front of the slide to thread?

Hi Catshooter. I’m using a Precision Small Arms threaded barrel.
