Which suppressor for 45ACP?

I have a couple centerfire rifle suppressors and a rimfire suppressor. I'm thinking about a pistol suppressor which would be used mostly with a 45ACP. What are your recommendations here? I haven't really looked into pistol suppressors at all...

Really depends on what all you want to do with it. What constitutes a fantastic dedicated semi-auto pistol suppressor does not necessarily lend well to use on magnum carbines or submachine guns. Conversely, the more flexible cans will be heavier.

IMO, the two frontrunners right now are:

Dedicated pistol can: Silencerco Osprey .45

Flexible pistol caliber can: Rugged Obsidian .45

And, of course, there's my Phoenix, which is more comparable to the Osprey, but shorter and a little tougher

Thanks. It will be a dedicated semi auto can. All my magnums are revolvers and no submachine guns in the safe...

I really like my Osprey .45, but some people don't like it because it doesn't come apart for cleaning. You need to clean .22lr suppressors every 300-1000 rounds depending on the design and your choice of ammo, but as long as you don't shoot lead bullets a centerfire suppressor should never require cleaning during its service life.

Gemtech recommends no attempt be made at cleaning their centerfire suppressors and say that experience shows the suppressor will out live several barrels. But they do make a "take apart" version of their Multi-mount 9mm can because the market seems to demand it I have one and have never taken it apart except once when I first got it to see what it looked like.

I only clean the LID (recoil booster) and QD attachment mechanisms on my centerfire suppressors, having to a take apart can and cleaning it every 200-300 rounds is a non-starter for me, after a few times I totally gave up on cleaning and turned it into a non-take apart and don't worry about it.

I have a little older YHM Cobra M2 I bought new around the time YHM was changing to a new series of pistol suppressor. You can disassemble it for cleaning, and you can get threaded adapters for different guns. I've used it on 45, 9mm, and 22 so far. A little white lithium grease coated on the baffle and tube and it lets the GSR wipe right off. It was a cost-effective solution for the time. I also have a YHM Phantom M2 in 30 cal. Both are very sturdy and will likely last my lifetime. A lifetime warranty never hurts, either.

Another vote for the 45Osprey. Mine and seen close to 2000 rounds of 9mm and 45 with no issues.

I'm partial to the AAC Ti RANT. Though the primary host is a Sig 220, I also run it with a piston change on Glock and Sig 9mm's.

I'd look long and hard at enough other silencerco cans to get a free octane with their current.t promotion. Barring that, mach iv's can, the rugged obsidian, Griffin revolution, dead air ghost, or liberty cosmic would all be on my short list.
