Ok, I want to use a handgun to shoot a deer this year. Best current candidate is a 6" model 19. I may get a 586 or 686, but for now I'm sticking with my K-frame.
I plan on using open sights, and limiting shots to 20-25 yards. Anybody have a recommendation for a commercial cartridge that will cleanly punch through a deer's chest at that range (and not blow up my revolver)?
