19 YO born and raised in a small town in upstate New York.
PFC in the USMC, Currentley stationed at NAS Pensacola FL, learning how to be a ordanceman.

27 years old, full-time student/master's candidate (two masters, architecture and urban design), libertarian, engaged to be married in February.

My better half and I live in a small 1927 bungalow in a stable, working-class city neighborhood, drive a 15-year old BMW and newish Camry, and have two cats.

Currently only one gun (Beretta M9) but I'd like to add a entry-level 1911 and J-frame to the collection in the near future. Maybe a Mossberg 500 Defender as well. I also like to collect mechanical watches and Nikon photo gear.

Numerically, over 50. Look, feel and think ( ) much younger.
Have a family.
Am in the middle of a career change and live modestly, without debt- and accompaning credit card.
By the way, this is a 5 year old thread. I catch Hell when I bump such:confused:
Those who have a modest gun collection are likely the truthfull gun owners, if they really own any. The ones who seem to have an unlimited budget for such are likely a minority of the truthfull percentage. Especially, when judged by the answer they give when donations are asked

41 years old.
Wife for some 20 years. Still younger than me.
2 kids 15 year old girl and 19 year old boy.
3 other "kids" (Chihuahua, Minature pincher and Doberman)

Live close to Keflavik intnl. airport in Iceland. (Former US Navy / Airforce base)
Car mechanc but on part time job and disabilitys for the last four years due to couple of back surgerys and spinal fushion. (More time to go to the range.)
Some 10-12 guns i think. and more to come.

And.............. Usually I can not afford buying guns and ammo but I buy it anyway.

32, male married for 7 years to wonderful woman that is thankfully tolerent of my shortcomings.

Just started the Machinist program at the local Comm. college. which when completed, i am hoping will (by providing a viable and fairly portable job skill, that is needed pretty much everywhere) aid my ability to go Back to NC and enter the gunsmith program at Piedmont Community college. wish me luck folks.:)

I'm 18 and I am currently enrolled full time in college. I am majoring in Engineering. I don't have a job, but I had a couple before classes started.

I have basically no means to buy anything, but I inherited some money from my grandmother that I want to save for when I get out of school in case I need it.

How old is everyone?

Married/single/family?

Hi, my name is LJ, screen name is LJ-MosinFreak-Buck, which gives more information than I intended. Oh well. I'm 19 years of age, I live in Iowa, and I work at Ruby Tuesdays. Doesn't pay worth a damn and I'm not getting very many hours lately. I am single, still living with my parents, and I have a steadily growing collection.

I've been shooting since I was twelve, had a lot of fun doing so, and hunted as well. Took a total of three deer so far (can't afford tags, and the method of hunt I want to use requires a Non-Resident liscense for Nebraska to use rifles, unless I want to put in a bid for a tag in the southern corner of Iowa).

My collection persists of:
Mosin Nagant M44 Izhevsk, 1944
K31, (Unsure of Arsenal), 1944 (dated the serial number, tried to contact original owner on the tag)
Savage Model 110, .243 Winchester
Marlin Model 80, .22 Short, .22 Long, .22 Long Rifle
Steven's Model 77f, 20 ga. Pump shotgun
H&R Topper, 12 ga. Single-shot break-action shotgun.

Now you know.

Single, never married, no kids.

1 GOOFBALL dog, 2 cats and a Western Hognose snake.
I own 6 firearms down from 37. *cry* (I'm working on it.)
I drive an old Nissan that aint pretty but gets me where I need to go at about 27mpg. :D
I own a condo and am generally just a laid back kind of friendly type person.

Age: 61
Married, feels like a hundred yrs. sometimes, but actually 40yrs.
Retired USMC, VN vet, rank Staff Sgt, MOS "grunt" and proud of it.
Raised in NoWhere CO, nearest town Laramie WY 82 mi away and started using guns at 5yrs old.

I reload all my ammo now and have 4 rifles and 4 handguns. I'm also an RSO at the local range here in OH so I have access to a lot of brass.
I purchased one or two for shooting then started watching the values go up so I started buying more as investment. Seems to work. Paid 400 for one and now its worth over 700. Bought an M1 Garand for 200 now it's worth over 1200. It's a better investment than the stock market.

51. Married. One kid at home, one out, just married, won't be long before the other is out. Grandkids could be showing up any time now.

OMG I'm old. :)

I have a few guns. 80% were bought in the last 3 years when I could afford them better.

38/m, a programmer/analyst for a local university.
Married for 16 years now. One six year old son, our miracle baby, he was born four months premature. Also have a ten-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

I have a fondness for old military surplus rifles, mainly because they're still pretty cheap to acquire. So far, I've accumulated the following:

  • 1895 Chilean Mauser, 7x57mm
  • 1916 Spanish Mauser, 7.62x51*
  • VZ-24 Mauser (Romanian contract), 8mm
  • M-38 Turkish Mauser, 8mm
  • M/27 Mosin-Nagant (Finnish)
  • M91/30 Mosin-Nagant (Soviet)
  • M44 Mosin-Nagant (Hungarian)

The 1895 Chilean, M1916 Spanish, and M/27 Finnish all suffered various bubba sporterizing attempts at the hands of family members before I was able to rescue them. I may wind up putting a new stock on the M1916, loading up some .308 youth loads, and giving it to the wife to go with her Rugers (Mk.II stainless pistol and 10/22 rifle).

*I know about the 7.62 NATO/CETME controversy surrounding the M1916, let's not get into that here too.
