Pail Harrell is the only YT presenter I subscribe to. He receives some criticism but who doesn’t? What first attracted me to his channel was when I was looking for some information to back up my position is an online discussion about using cover and moving under fire. I had taken the position that the methods I learned in the Corps were superior to what I was reading from some discussion participants who had taken training from trainers whose advice I thought was ridiculous.

I found his channel and his vid on the subject, then I flounder more of his tactical videos and one on pistol shooting stance. He and I were in total agreement. It was a few days later that I found out he was originally combat trained in the Corps. You could say that I am prejudiced because of that, and I am.

I have no interest in some topics Paul covers. But I have serious interest in others so I subscribe with notifications to not miss one. He is the only YT presenter I do that for. In a way Paul is a lot like me. He is not numerous. He is not polished. He is honest. He says what he believes from his experience, testing etc. He is one of the few presenters on YT who has ever had to use a gun in self defense doe which he was charged and prosecuted. He was acquitted. The man is no BS, straight talking, experienced, knowledgeable, and modest. The only thing wrong with Paul is that he is not perfect. But who is?

I know he has his critics, but I like Paul Harrell’s videos. He’s a bit formulaic and he’s not a professional presenter, but I think he’s pieces are generally balanced and enjoyable.
Agree..and Hickok45 altho he is pretty 'wordy'...

And Ian McCollum..Forgotten Weapons
Demolition Ranch, Lucky Gunner and even this guy altho sometimes just wacky.
Interesting guy. Edwin Sarkissian

So many, depending. Tactical Rifleman, John McPhee, Tim Kennedy, and Kyle Lamb, who are very good at what they do, as well as friends. Larry Vickers is very knowledgeable. Ian from forgotten weapons has the most historic material. Hickok is great for product demonstrations. Warrior poet has been putting out great content lately, especially for entry level shooters. Matt Best and his guys are the funniest. Vigilance Elite is an acquired taste.

Demolition Ranch, Forgotten Weapons, Sootch and Hickok45 are the only ones I still subscribe to. I used to be subscribed to a lot more but I got tired of 9 out of 10 videos being over politics. 99 percent of your viewers already agree with your political stance so get back to showing us our gun porn.

I've been a YouTube junky for well over 10 years. I watch them all , started making a list, it was pointless. I'll just list top 5 and bottom 5
Top-
1-paul Harrell
2-taofledermaus
3-C&Arsenal
4-forgotten weapons
5-hickok45
--- honorable mention ---MannyCA

Least watchable:
1-yankee marshall
2-yankee Marshall
3-recent demolition ranch (used to love this channel)
4-nutnfancy (I don't care about your watch ,sir. Been subscribed over 10 years. It's in the pits)
5-twangnbang (just no)

Some excellent channels to check out:
Mark serbu, who_tee_who, buffalo outdoors, the real gunsmith, fortunecookie45lc, chukesoutdooradventures (just funny), the Kentucky patriot, I could go on but these are all good
I excluded extinct channels. And would love to see a return of mattv2099, carnikon & tnoutdoors9.

Can't say that I have one. I'll pick Kristen Joy Wiess since the scenery is excellent and she is a remarkable shot. Old grouch that I am I usually just pick reviews of a gun I'm interested in and start watching several to see what I can glean from all the ramblings, hokey background music, biasied opinions, beards, operator wanta-be clothing, etc. I do not open anything that's titled "unboxing" this or that.

I'm pretty much the same way, and truthfully, I don't pay much attention to the name of the name of the "You Tuber" who did the video review of a gun I'm interested in. Our soon to be son-in-law talks a lot about someone who calls himself "Hickock45" however, so maybe I'll look at a couple of his videos. The trouble is, our soon to be son-in-law is a good guy and I'm glad our daughter met him and fell in love with him, but he has entirely different tastes when it comes to guns and shooting than I do. So I might just start a "Hickock45" video, and click "Stop" in less than a minute.;)

Hickock45 is in my "rambler's" catagory. Dude is a good shot though.

Like other have said, it depends on what you are looking for.
I'm a history buff, so I enjoy the long format stuff that C&Rsenal puts on, really going into the history and design of guns. Besides, it's fun to watch Mae shoot them. Their collaboration with Ian Macullum creating several videos on all of the WWI era light machine guns was really well done. Query Project Lightening (note the E).
Mark Novak's spinoff gunsmithing channel, Anvil, is also excellent. I've done just enough gun tinking to know how difficult some of the things he tackles are.
And for short format shows Forgotten Weapons is great.
I support all of them on Patreon.
The suggestions of others to look into is appreciated

I enjoy his deadpan delivery and sarcasm.

C&Rsenal are a treasure. Real work goes into their very informative vids.

One of the things that I really dislike about some, not all, of these channels is their incessant hawking of related goods and/or sponsors. Stop trying to sell me coffee (Guns&Gadgets) or your favorite gun-related do-dad of the week on Amazon (ASP) or importer that gave you a free com-block pistol (Sootch), or O-Light branded lights (virtually all of the gun channels). I know I can (and do) just skip over the first 2-3 mins of their sales pitch, but it's just really tiring. I'm just about right to walk away from Facebook, which is far worse, for the same reason.

IV8888, I actually bought one of his personal guns. A shortened wather p1.

Forgotten weapons is also a big one. I bought his book Chassepot to Famas for his Kickstarter campaign.

Highly recommend the book, though it’s pricey.

Well, unfortunately it’s expensive and time consuming to run these channels. They have to make income or they wouldn’t exist at all. I’m willing to look the other way if it allows them to make videos full time

Eh, I'll watch Hickok 45 if he's shooting a handgun I'm interested in. Aside from him (and occasionally a Jerry Miculek vid), I only use YouTube to check out music I have a sudden need to hear …
