Sure, this topic will mix it up a bit, but I'd truly like to know what, if anything, makes the HK better than a Glock. I briefly owned a USP Tactical .45, and it was a good gun, but a little on the chunky side (as are Glocks), and other than an exposed hammer, I did not see any clear advantage over a Glock 21. I now own a Glock 20, and feel it is a fantastic gun. A friend's Glock 27 can hit 4" plates at 25 yards all day (as can any Glock I have fired at them, be it G36, G21, G19, etc.). I just don't know what all the fuss is about. HK fans, make your case.

People buy handguns for the feature set. Size, weight, trigger pull, safety/no safety, decocker/no decocker, etc. What feature set is best, well, that comes down mostly to personal preference.

Perhaps H&K owners think that H&Ks have a better feature set the Glocks?

HK owners think that HKs are better than anything else. Bloated prices from a company that doesn't respect its customers doesn't necessarily make for a better product. I'd rather have the Glock anyday.

Ive shot and like both.... I just so happen to shoot others better... does that make my brand better? No, I just shoot it better. I drive a Mustang better than a Challenger

I do no own either. Yet why do glock owners think that glocks are better than everything? I am almost scared to buy one. I know a guy wanting to sell a glock 19 gen 3 for $300. I figure I'd buy it because I could always get my money back.

I have fired a H&K USP very light trigger but a little bulky. I owned a Gen 1 glock 17 that was as reliable as a jenning/bryco .25 auto. Yes both are good guns but neither happen to turn me on. I just has to get the dig in early

Hk owners are ticked because Jean Claude Van-dam endorses HK and Norris endorses Glock.

Anything other than that is speculation and opinion...

Please forward his info to me via PM. I will pay him $325 LOL

It is his old duty weapon. The department went from 9mm to .40s and the officers were allowed to buy thier old ones. Now he is convinced that the .40 makes the 9 look like a red ryder bb gun.

I guess I'll be the first fan. First off , you said it yourself, exposed hammer. Sights, 3 dot over field goal. ENDLESS amounts of trigger configurations, made to order. ERGOS, thats right ergos, you have to be a <deleted> gorilla for one of those things to fit you. Interchangeable side panels (no one else in the game) and backstraps. Glocks finally catching up with the Gen 4 and the backstrap, although those arent much to write home about from what I've read so far. No dry fire to disassemble. What else? Anyway, I'm sure theres more, just running out of'em at this hour.

P30 shooter... G19 owner

HK's are made better.

These statements don't help at all, what makes you think they are better constructed?

ENDLESS amounts of trigger configurations,

Not really. Also the sights are easily changed by buying a set out of the hundreds of aftermarket sights for the Glock

Side note: I don't even like Glocks, SIGs are the handguns for me.

Simply put, HK owners payed more for their guns and their feelings would be hurt if they had to admit Glocks are better.

It is all a matter of taste and preference. I do not want to pay a bunch of extra, hard-earned dollars for something with a bunch of bells and whistles, look ugly IMO, doesn't work appreciably better or more accurately, and DOES NOT FIT MY HAND! HK owners do.

I do not have anything that can be remotely called gorilla hands and Glocks fit me perfectly, especially the Gen4 with the largest grip insert. You can buy a Glock Gen 4 with a total of 2 grip inserts that will fit just about anyone or an HK with a bucket of grips and inserts to keep track of for a bunch more money. Maybe there is a reason HK is the only game in town when it comes to interchangeable grip panels, no one else thinks it is necessary. :D

I don't like either brand, but if I had to choose, I'd rather have a HK. At least they can usually be made to feel okay in the hand without resorting to a Dremel and a soldering iron.

Its a money thing.......

HK's have to be twice the gun,.... well their over twice the price. What else can it be???

Just because your paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get ya! :uhoh:

I agree with the people saying "who cares?" If you see any HK owners who specifically like to talk down on Glock products, chances are they are teenagers who don't own either brand but like to debate about cool, dangerous stuff.

Many people who do not choose to buy a Glock, think the pistol they chose is better.

People have several different reasons for making their choice, some reasons are based on silly things and some based on experience and knowing thy self.

I don't own a Glock and do not see my self buying one any time soon - but I could live out the rest of my life in contentment with my only pistol being a Glock 17 or 19.

Why are we even having this discussion when the CZ-75 is obviously the pinnacle of modern firearms technology and puts all other guns to shame?

Also, you are all bad people, and you should feel bad for making such ill-informed purchases.

:D

I personally think HKs have a little more refinement than Glocks. It is probably not worth the price though. The grip as a general rule, feels better. Especially on the newer P30. You have many different trigger types with HKs as well and even though the smoothness of their triggers is not great from the factory, it sure beats the ker-clunck Glock factory trigger. Finish is more durable on Glocks but looks better on HKs.

I think it would be better to compare Sigs and HKs as they are closer to eachother on the price scale. I personally dont think there is anything special about HKs or Glocks and am infinitely confounded at the maniacal loyalty to either.
