Why don't they make smaller RMR sights for handguns?

Slightly off topic but close, I would really like to see larger red+green night sights with an led in the bases to light those chickens up. a way to wire them into a flashlight and have variable brightness would be really sweet. I would imagine those on a carry/home defense gun would be extremely useful.

I have been carrying a J-point on my M&P for a bit. NO impact on comfort or concealability, but it's a J-point. Rounded and a bit smaller than the pointy edged RMR but as above, many conceal them with no notable complaints.

I also have one of those odd Mepro FT Bullseye things on a Kahr. Functionally it is an iron sights sized RDS. And it's way too small for many of the benefits of the RDS. I think the J-point is about as small as I'd want the window to get. There's room for overall package channges; you can imagine the batteries et al inside the gun, so just a lens sticking up for example.

Becoming proficient with a red dot on a handgun only requires practice. Indexing the gun so the dot is always where you expect only requires practice. If you have used iron sights your whole life and are changing to a red dot you're going to have to practice.
This isn't that hard to figure out.

For non-concealed use I have legitimately considering milling a 1913 rail, and mounting up an EOTech. The bigger the window, the happier I am.
