Why just the Georgia incident?

The brave lady in Georgia that saved herself and her children could not have happened at a better time. It is a direct showing of how a gun can save a woman and her children from inevitable harm and it is being used as the poster for the fight we are waging against the stupid gun laws that are trying to be passed.

For those of us that get the NRA publications monthly, there is a full page devoted to incidents where a gun was used to save someone or prevent crime.

Many of theses stories are equally as profound as the Georgia incident and should be added to the mix to show the country that guns can and are used for self protection and saving lives.

People may be getting tired of hearing about that Georgia self defense story by now and it could easily be enhanced by many others and IMHO it would serve our cause if a number of other stories stepped up to supplement it.

I know the main stream media is slow to report the good end of gun ownership but there are a lot of pro gun people being interviewed these days as part of the debate and they could have a field day just bringing out the many recent situations where guns have saved people from a less than enjoyable fate.

Because it was a recent incident still fresh in the National media. It could well have been any other incident. Timing is everything

I agree with both of you, in that there are a lot of successful gun self defense out there, and I really wish that more people were aware of them, especially our spokesmen when they go on the media.

There are a couple of web sites dedicated to gun use self defense, and I apologize for not giving out their names and links to them, but my old computer crashed and I haven't had time to recover the data from it yet.

One of the things we might be able to do is write letters to the editor of local news papers, detailing successful self defense.

It didn't convince barricaded liberals. The local liberal talk show host said the shooting illustrated that a revolver and five shots was perfectly adequate because the intruder ran away as a result. It's the same fellow that said the 22-victim stabbing in China illustrated that a knife isn't dangerous because no one died.

These are the kinds of people you're dealing with who have power in the media. Of course, we're trying to illustrate the issue to fence-sitters, not ideological demagogues.
