Why no .357 Magnum ACP?

Yes. That extractor was used on the 52 and 52-1.
The 52-2 used a different extractor.

I'm honestly not impressed with the .357 wannabe Sig.
A lot of chrony tests I've seen do not bear out factory velocity claims.
A lot of factory loads have shown less expansion and penetration than equivalent weight 9mm +P loads from the same maker.

Plus, NO .357-wannabe Sig round can touch real .357 mag loads, even in a 4" revolver.
The .357 loads Sig tried to ape are the modern, watered-down, .357 loads.

I'll pass. If I need more than 6 hits with full powered, real .357 mag loads, I should have brought a .44 Mag, a shotgun with slugs, or a rifle.

If I'm going to care a .40 S&W sized pistol, It will be chambered in .40 S&W.
There is nothing so "right" about .40 that would cause me to drop my 9s and .45s for it, but there is nothing so "wrong" with it that would cause me to feel unprotected when carrying one.
And, it has a lot better bullet selection than .357 Sig.
I'm a handloader, first and formost.
.40 is a great round to handload. Much cheaper than buying factory ammo.
