Why so many negative reviews about ACOG eye relief?

I just purchased my first ACOG (4x32 - TA31F) and I was honestly very hesitant to buy it because of all the negative reviews about the eye relief (almost went with the 3.5x35). Honestly I think the eye relief is perfect. I mounted it near the rear of the rail sections, just over the MBUS, and when I shoulder the rifle, it's in the perfect position.

I think too many people expect the ACOG to act like a red dot sight. When in reality it is a closer relative to a fixed power scope with an illuminated reticle.
