Some of you might know (i posted here) that during our previous range trip, she got a nasty case of slide bite and had refused nearly every invitation to go to the range. Well it just happened that she got no choice yesterday and had to tag along as I told her i got 2 other couples coming along to go shoot with us. She reluctantly agreed to come as a spectator/ supporter :neener:

Anyway the RO would not let her in because they said somehting about "insurance purposes" - non shooters weren't allowed to be in the bench (right behind the firing line). So we head back and paid for her to get in. Well since she paid, i asked her to might as well make her money's worth. So she picked up the handgun and started shooting. Well, it was on Sunday and the range was packed. We could only get 2 stalls, one for us and another couple (first time shooters, kinda trying to teach them at the same time) and the other one for the other more experienced couple. So as she was shooting, the brass from the couple next door flew in her shirt ( not really low cut but she didn't plan to go shooting either), and did the hot brass dance. I can't help but laugh for a split second and basically ran towards her to "secure" the weapon.
But to my surprise, she finally cleared the brass while during this whole thing, still pointing the muzzle down range. So after everyone took their turn with the handgun, i brought out my 10/22.

That thing has 25 rd mags and a 50 rd mag with a red dot. Everyone had a blast. No kick, hits at what you aim at, etc. Then the wife shot it. After a couple of rounds, she wanted to go using the handgun again. She said it has more challenge .

Anyway, after dinner i complemented her of the fact that she practiced a very important safety rule and she didn't do the "crazy" dance. Well, at the end she said she wanted to be better at it and she would want me to take her to the range at least once a month.

Now if only she'd learn to clean up the guns after that :D

For years I tried to get my wife into shooting. I convinced her to come to the range with me about a year ago. I let her shoot a custom 10/22 and she fell in love. Since then I had to by myself another 10/22, she has become a member of the range and shooting 1000 rds a week, she is buying guns and ammo at a pace that would make many here proud. Carefull what you wish for:neener: .............
