I have been eyeing these for a while and am about to purchase one, but have an odd question about the buckle on the instructors belt. Does the buckle stick out more than a regular leather belt buckle? And does the buckle dig into your body when in weird contorted positions? I work on a lot of cars and it won't work for me if the buckle protrudes a lot, could cause damage to certain surfaces, or if the buckle digs into the body doing under dash work

The buckle may stick out further than a leather belt buckle, but it never has stuck me. They are pretty comfortable belts.

If you're rubbing against a metal surface, you may want to try the Frequent Flyer belt, as those have nylon buckles or rather loops.

Coincidentally, the Frequent Flyer belt is currently offered with a $5.00 discount. Most of us choose the 5-stitch variety if you plan on carrying a gun with the belt.

Pay attention to the belt sizing instructions. Don't order your jeans waist size.

Their instructions may seem odd, but they work.

I also recommend the frequent flyer with the five stitch, I’ve worn mine daily for several years and still looks new. Stiff enough carry isn’t a problem but still comfortable. And I’ve even worn it through airport security!

Ive been using the Frequent Flyer belts for a number of years now, and really like them. Very comfortable, and the double ring doesnt look so "tactical".

I have a couple of the Instructor belts as well, and used them for a couple of decades prior to switching to the FF. Both are great belts, the FF just a bit less noticeable, or at least doesnt have that "gun belt" look, I think.

I would think in your line of work, any buckle would be an issue if you were leaning up against something with a finish on it. With any of them, if you are using a protective pad, Id probably go with the old "trucker" offset with the buckle, or move it even farther to the side.

I like the Wilderness Leader and I've bought 4 of them.

BE SURE YOU ORDER THE RIGHT SIZE and if it is to big or to small when you get it, DO NOT WEAR IT AT ALL or they won't let you return it. So long as it is in an unworn condition though they say they will accept any returns.

About a month ago I won one of those "repost this" contest drawings on Facebook and got this belt as a result. I REALLY LOVE wearing this belt. I chose it just to have something a little more formal than the Wilderness belts but turns out this thing wears the most comfortable of any gun belt I own, by far. I'll be BUYING from them when I need another or a new one.
