I've had this belt for 2 days now and must say I finally know why shooters are always touting it!

This belt is 1 1/2", very stout upon examination and very stiff. I put it on with the buckle facing left - that way I could thread it like a regular belt left to right. It doesn't matter which way you wear it though - the opposite way works just as well. The velcro is very tough stuff, can't imagine it failing.

Yesterday I wore it with my 5.11 pants without a gun to see how it felt and I liked it - couldn't wait to try it while carrying. I haven't carried in some time as I didn't have a belt to fit me so I was really looking forward to it.

Today I wore it with a XD-45 Compact (with a 13-rd mag) in a Simply Rugged "Cuda" OWB holster and it was great - couldn't tell it was there because the belt is so stiff.

I like leather as much as anyone but everyone should try one of these. I've gained a lot of weight since I quit smoking and didn't have a belt that fit so I ordered this one to give it a shot. Definitely not as dressy as my Beltman Elephant but that one is about 6" short of fitting!

I don't know, tell you the truth. I guess not though as nothing that came with the belt says anything about a stiffener. Looking at the web site it doesn't look like my model gets the stiffener, just the sewing.

I like the infinite adjustability. Sometimes with leather belts you find yourself wanting to be "in between" buckle holes, i.e., one is too tight but the next one out is too loose. If you strung together enough Wilderness belts, you could tow your car in a pinch. :D

The stiffener is an option.

I've got the same belt. They are excellent, although I kind of wish I had gotten mine with the stiffener instead of the 5 stitch reinforcement.
