Finally saw that PSA has an 18" upper in stock but ithe is the ptac version. Before I spend $650 on this want to make sure it will fit their new pa10 lower I have sitting in my shop.
PTAC has always been since its inception a way for PSA to acquire lower-cost "good deals" to sell. That by necessity means that the products are going to come from a variety of vendors who offers products made with different materials, etc. It was a "separate company" in administrative considerations only. PSA was the only company that sold PTAC products -- PTAC didn't even sell its own products.
I would not assume that since PSA folded PTAC into the larger PSA company formally, that it means that a PTAC item is going to be of the same quality/workmanship as a PSA-branded item.
I agree, though, that both PTAC and PSA .308 AR items should be built to the same pattern and all be physically compatible with each other.
